should not haul hay in the July Texas sun. I am a Lobster...shoot me, shoot me now!
-
Ahhh .... I learned that lesson the hard way a couple dozen years ago, meself.

Slip,slop,slap.
Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat.

My first paying job I had was at 12 y/o bailing hay for a neighbor.....(we raised corn, didn't have a clue about bailing hay.) It was a typical July in Minnesota, 90 deg with 99% humidity. I showed up in a short sleeve shirt and shorts. I *did* have gloves though :) Big mistake. 2nd day on the job I had jeans and a long sleeve shirt on. :) Live and learn

The hell with sunscreen. That's what surgery is for ;)

Put 200 bales of alfalfa in the barn this weekend. The best thing about throwing 75 lb bales when it’s 90 degrees is that later, when you think you’re having a bad day at work, you realize that at least your not throwing 75 lb bales when it 90 degrees .

Im pretty red too... but thats from playing golf yesterday - SUCKERS!

I'm getting brown now. Soon I will be indistinguishable from Animal...which is my goal for the summer.

I raked and bailed 400 bails of coastal, then put it in the barn. I sorta feel like the Hulk now...everything is very light. Oh, and thank GOD for Aloe Vera Gel!

I heard you should wait 24 hours before applying aloe vera to a sunburn.... something about making it worse?
I havent read anything about it before.. that true?
