Title: Beer commercials and hot-looking women

An interesting discussion on the radio this morning about the use of scantily-clad women to sell beer and whether it was offensive or not.  Of course you know who was offended and who wasn't, and a few intelligent individuals who were secure in their manhood and womanhood and could see the entertainment value of the "cat fight" beer commercial.

But an interesting point was made that got me to thinking.

It seems that nowadays every popular beer maker uses scantily clad women to push their product (Corona is the only one I can think of that doesn't).  But I remember a time when it wasn't always that way.  I remember when beer commercials used jingles and slogans to keep you thinking about their beer, even after the 30-second spot was over.  Let's see if you can match the lyric to the beer:

A. "When its time to relax, one beer stands clear,
If you've got the time, we've got the beer."

B. "Here comes the king, here comes the big number one,
 (somethingsomething) beer is second to none..."

C. "Here's to good friends, tonight is kind of special, the beer we'll pour, must say something more somehow.  So tonight, tonight let it be (something)."

1. Budweiser

2. Heineken

3. Miller

4. Busch

5. Lowenbrau

Now, you'll notice that you have more beer names than songs.  That means that 2 of these beers are just there to fool you.  Think you're up for the challenge?

That's funny because now that you mention it, I could not tell you what beer was advertised in the "cat fight" advert.  Although I certainly remember the advert.  :D

Neither could I, which is kind of sad because that commercial has my undivided attention whenever it comes on. :p   Haven't seen it in awhile, though.  I heard there was going to be some parody sequels coming out.
