That graph is meaningless without a category for beer.
-
Beer falls under the categories: recreation, food, medical care, houshold operation(gotta keep a case in the fridge), the accesories in clothing and accesories, and the all other categorie as well.
-
expand the federal/state/local tax to 45% of the pie (federal and provincial for me) then you'll have some thing to complain about.
and I think beer beer needs a catagory of it's own...well maybe include chicken wings then it will be a proper catagory.

And the "decoded" pie looks like this:

Christ, the government has taken a third of your beer.
-
Now if we could just keep from perpetually operating on a deficit and get rid of the national debt, you could get back a whole 14 days from those 74 days spent on federal taxes.
-
yep lance... we should put the government on a budget.
lazs

Actually, since we're triple and quadruple taxed constantly, if you add in sales tax, license tabs, etc. etc., in OUR state the "Magic Day" that you start earning money for yourself is June 17th. So we work 5.5 months for the State/Fed taxes, then we start earning it for ourselves.
-
isn't it you work through May just to pay your tax burden?

Depends on your state. We're in the top 10 taxed I believe (thks Democrats) so we work later into the year to pay our taxes.

BS!! You first have to reduce the marginal tax rate.

I guarantee that it takes more than thirty days of pay to feed a pair of teenagers for a year. :)
