Title: Microsoft discontinues the Sidewinder joystick range
Post by: Wilfrid on July 03, 2003, 07:44:21 AM
Sidewinder (http://www.gamegossip.com/comment.php?id=511)

I'll be sad to see these go, my Sidewinder was unbeatable until I upgraded to a 1ghz machine a few years back and it couldn't detect anymore.

Ahh Wireplay and Air Attack...

except the cheap saitec x45s that now work flawlessly for as low as 50 bucks.

p.s. hat bubbles switches go bad in about 2 years, get the extended warrentee and 4 years of joystick for less than 100 usd.

pay more if you really want to .

I have nothing but good to say about the Sidewinder.

Let's seperate fact from fiction regarding reliability:
Just browse the Hardware section of this BB and see which sticks are subject to the most problems, and which ones seldom malfunction.

By the way, what are "pots" and how do you clean them?

Sidewinder owners have no need to know...

For the money, the Sidewinder was a great stick.

Sidewinder 3D was the best joystick I ever had. Dang thing was almost indestructable. You could not give me another Saitek.
