Nah....the 100mm SU-100's gun was small (bore-wise) compared to the Sturmtiger found here (http://users.swing.be/tanks.tanks/complet/475.html#732)
380mm of HE loving.

A 1943 - Soviet SU-100 Self-Propelled Gun mounted on a T-34 Chassis.
Armament: I - 100mm gun
Engine: 12 cyl. diesel, 500 hp Model W2
Speed: 30 mph
Range: 186 miles; 220 with auxiliary tanks
Crew: 4
Weight: 31 tons
Long 100mm gun developed from high velocity naval gun.

yep Su-100 based on the 31 ton T-34 chassis
not the 36 ton T-34/85 chassis
the 100MM gun could penetrate 125MM of armor at 2000 metres.

What is the difference between a T-34/76 chassis and a T-34/85 chassis?

This ''Mortar'' was orginally anti-sub depth charge launcher...

But does that add up to a 10,000 lb increase in weight?
The turret ring of a T-34(1943) looks to be the same size as the T-34/85.

T-34 m43 got new re-designed ''Hexagonal'' turret (Max armor 70mm) + wider mantlet and armored commander cupola was also installed , turret ring diameter was 1,42m while T-34-85 got 1,6m wide...

Yes and there was 3 styles of "hex" turrets.
Still, I would like to know where the extra 10,000 lbs came from.

Milomorai,
i don't have the exact figures on the su-100 but i believe the weight difference in chasis was only refering to a t-34 when completed as a t-34/76 or t-34/85, not a su-100

Yes, that is what I want to know, where the extra 10,000 lb came from on the T-34/85 over the T-34/76.
"based on the 31 ton T-34 chassis
not the 36 ton T-34/85 chassis "
I can only find an increase of 220lb for a whole tank.

T-34-85s main gun weigh was 1540kg ~ 4400lb...
And F-34 cannon weight was 1155kg ~ 2547lb
-
Excuse me but t-34/85 never weighted 36 tons.
~ 32 tons

1540kg = 3395 lb. > a typo???
That only accounts for 850 lb. of the 10,000 lb.
dankes, it is so hard getting info on this 10,000 lb increase here. All I have ever seen is, as you say, 32 ton.

Correct.
Weight of early model t-34 (L-11 cannon) was 26.5 tons. It increased to ~30.5 tons in T-34/76 41 year model (F-34 cannon). (dunno how... mb armor thickened etc)
I often encounter the following sentence in different articles about T-34 (IMHO original author is Igor Shmelev) "the weight of t-34/85 increased by 6 tons in comparison to first model". Ppl treat it incorrectly and suppose the weight of t-34/85 to be 36 tons (30+6)
Correct is 26+6 = 32.
