Some of you may have heard about this already, but Microsoft is discontinuing all Sidewinder branded products. (Joysticks, gamepads, gamevoice, all of it.) Supposedly they will still offer drivers online though.
(Sorry I haven't been posting recently, I've been very busy.)

Sad to hear that about their gamepads and such. They have some of the best ones I have ever used as far as the ergonomics and positioning of the buttons. I can't recall ever using one of their joysticks though but I do hear about many people who have been breaking them after less than 6 months usage.

My first Precision pro lasted 3-4 years, this one is about a year old and still as good as new.
Optical sensors, no wearing potentiometers = no troubles or spikes :)

I've had MSW sticks for 5 years. If they're no longer available, can you recommend an alternative twisty stick?

Good question Beet1e. I'm going to go out and buy a back-up Precision 2 in the meantime - if they are not yet sold out at the stores. They are so trouble-free under Windows XP I should be ok for years more to come.
