The Corsair first saw combat with the FAA during the strikes against the German battleship TIRPITZ in Norway during the spring and summer of 1944.
This would be a nice addition to AH special skins collection.
Please see Tamiya's Model Page (http://www.squadron.com/old/f4u1atam/f4u1atamreview.htm) for more great photos.

Something odd about the images on that site ( http://www.squadron.com/old/f4u1atam/f4u1atamreview.htm). Even the description of the bird doesn't synch with the pics all that well:
"Both Corsairs were painted in a disruptive scheme of Olive Drab and Dark Grey over Sky Grey - the US equivalents of dark Slate Grey, Extra Dark Sea Grey, and Sky respectively. TRH with dropped flaps carries the early style blue and white roundels. "
I think the images were inadvertantly "sepia-toned" in some manner.
