Anyone in the beta?
-
NO!
-
No, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try when it's done. WWI air combat strikes my fancy even more than WWII air combat.

Here's a weak JPEG of DOA III. It looks MUCH better in-game. The planes are difficult to fly well, no one-shot-one-kill "blooey guns" or dis-engaging at will in an "uber-plane" here. Tri-planes and bi-planes have restricted visibility obviously. All in all, a great game for WWI afficianados........

Cabby, what's the scoop on DOAIII? I've been in the dark, this is really pique-ing my interest.

ROFL oh man i could say something about that post but i wont. :D

niiice Dawn of Aces is fun, all those dogfights-something you rarely find in AH these days
-
any cockpit shots?
-
If any era ever so badly needed an HTC type of view system it's that of WWI. While the DOA III screenshots do look good IMO it's already crippled as a "sim" if it's using the antiquated AW/WB view model.

DoA was fun in the past when I used to play it :D
I did have a good success.. most memorable is the one where I succeeded in making 96 kills in 14 flights and 1 loss. (and the 1 loss happened when I tried to help a friendly.. then got nailed at extreme range when almost got ran away from enemies.. yay.. but I took 8 of them :>)

Was that back when you used to walk to school barefoot in the snow, uphill (both ways), all year long without summer break, eating only bread and water for sustainment...and you still managed straight A's?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... all about air to air combat?
No GV's, no player or AI ack? No "base capture"?
I might be pretty interested if that was the case.

I believe you. That was quite an accomplishment. I could never do something like that.

Been awhile since I flew DOA 2, the guns and uber planes were that bad, eh?
-
^That refers to WWII cannon-armed planes, not WWI bi-planes. Obviously, flying the WWI crates is a bit different then B n Z'ing in a 400 mph FW-190 or F4U-4C..........

Oh, so it takes you about 5 min of being parked on someones butt in order to kill them while their friends come in and pick you clean, I get it! ;)
Seriously, WW1 bi-planes are fun, but if this is the WB engine...well...all I can say is "have fun!"
