{ Note: if the following is offensive to HTC in any way, I'll delete it immediately upon request }
*throws out a bone*
Ok here is the shots for you Westy that I promised in the thread in General Discussions. This is the first time they've been seen off of my computer.
{Note 2: I posted them here the O'Club because I didn't want to step on any toes. And even then, I only considered it because HTC has stated in the past they have no interest in producing post-WWII jet sims. Ask and it can be removed.}
I don't have any screenshots of the F model handy (I have it modeled tho), so you'll have to make do with a C model shot. And none of that pansy desert camo either :p The textures are still VERY alpha, and need a lot of work, along with a little more work needed around the cockpit/ejection seat.

VA-216 A-4C Skyhawk BuNo. 149528 NP 693 was shot down over North Vietnam. The pilot, Lieutenant Paul E. Galanti, ejected, was captured by the North Vietnamese, and made Prisioner of War. He was eventually repatriated in 1973 after spending almost 6 years in the Hanoi Hilton.

Hotsh&t Vermillion. That looks wonderful. Really! Just seeing the pix has me incredibly anxious to try one out. Especially after being left high and dry so long ago by AW:Vapornam. I may even get Striek Fighters to try one ;)
As a kid I used to watch the "weekend warriors" practice at the NAS in South Weymouth, MA. doing mock attacks and dogt fights in those. They're one incredibly nimble little jet. Much morew so than the F-14's I Saw although with the variable geometry wing and pure honking thrust at thier beck and call they did some nice moves back :)
I'm really looking forward to the project you're working on :)
* p.s. I can get close up pictures of the A-4D-1 they have at NEAM.org Give me a heads up and I'll go on an open cockpit day and snap shome shots. Pic: http://www.neam.org/images/a4_1_lg.jpg.

Yes MT it is.
MrCoffee, I would love to do a F-100F, and I have the reference material to do one. But right now I'm doing the cockpits for the other aircraft that I have finished first. The F4-B/C/D/E/J, the F-105D/F/G, the A-4C/E/F, the MiG-17/F, and the MiG-21F13/PMF/MF.
After that I will probably do a A-7 Corsair II and a F-8 Crusader at the same time. I have one donated model of the A-7 that will have to be converted and UVmapped/textured, which I can readily transform into a F-8 as well. Then the MiG-19, and THEN probably the F-100F, and after that the A-6A/B.
I'll get all that done around the year 2005 or so ;) But since I'm doing it as a hobby I don't mind. My biggest slowdown is 2D texture art, ie the skins. I stink at it, and it takes up huge proportions of my time.
LePaul, if you know anyone who would want to do a Blue Angles skin for it, let me know. I'll provide the templates. But its not likely I would get the time to do one. :)
For that matter, if anyone who likes to do 3D art or 2D art (or other useful contributions) just let me know.
I was never a "jet jock" when it came to aircraft, buts its been really fun for me, and a nice cleansing change of pace from the last 8 or more years of WWII aircraft.

A1

LOL! MiniD
Actually I have the A1 Skyraider reference material as well (both 3D and FM) but tis way way down the list.
The A1 was not used very much up north, except for Sandy mission rescuing downed pilots.

Hey Vermillion --
One of my squaddies, BulletHead, has had some experience doing skins. He recently made a very nice looking A-36 Apache (although in AH he was stuck using P-51B airframe). If you want to see if he can give you a hand, drop him a note at jtweller@earthlink.net and see if he has some time to help you out. I know that he's offered to help out folks who are making new terrains, so I'm sure that he'd help out w/the skins, too. Just tell him that Thunder sent you! :-)
