Any of you have an ideas about how to improve fugitive view on joystick? You know, when you push the hat control and (for example) the left side view either doesn 't show, or shows only briefly and then returns to the forward view.
It's quite degrading to situational awareness -- not having confidence that the desired view will show, or simply having to worry about what should be as routine as breathing.
I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme which has been my favorite joystick except for this annoying problem which developed after a couple years of use. The view seemed to stick better after I folded a tip of tissue and rubbed it around inside the edge of the hat control, but before long the same erratic lack of view sticking returned.
I don't see any apparent easy way of getting farther inside the hat control short of dissembling the entire joystick.
Hate to have to buy a new joystick when everything else works fine. Anybody have any miracle solution?

can you program another hat/button for the rear views?
I have my fl and fr views on a different hat than my other views with the X45

Only have one hat on the stick. I want to keep views there. I'm getting tired of farting around with the unreliable and crucial left side view, so unless I can somehow fix it, guess it's time to buy another stick.

Sounds like a saitek stick!!
2 of the last 4 cyborgs I bought had a similar problem from new, (well I purchased one and returned em until i got a good one) I fried the other with static electricity.
Unfortunately the current stick has a flakey hat switch which is making flight sims abit painful atm, so when I can be bothered to get the current stick replaced I'll be back..

Whaaa? You guys are whiney, i use(ed) the numpad the entire time i flew AH, no problems here. Instant reaction and it always works how it's supposed to :p

Try cleaning it w/ some alcohol (the head cleaning type) it will evaporate all on its own .
and im wondering 2 years on a wingman ??? hasnt your bottom of your base broken yet ? ive broke 3 so far in 2 years .
I fixed one of them by welding a better plate w/ a stud to it . but the darn throttle cuts in and out on it now. (its my backup besides my very old thustmaster )
if the alcohol dosnt work a new one is only 29 bucks these days

Got the same stick, never had the bottom break or the hat stop working. The problem I'm having is the rudder input. It likes to spike, and it really doesn't like to return to center when it's released. Calibrating both in Windows and in AH sometimes helps it for a few days. Mostly I just end up flying around with a lot of left rudder input to keep it centered.

Had the same twitchy hat switch problem and the rudder eventually became a bit one-sided on both of my old L-tech WM Extremes. Finally fixed it by buying the Saitek X45 HOTAS. Been lovin it ever since. $75 for a complete HOTAS, makes it affordable to add pedals! :)

Yeah, I had some rudder bias too, but today solved the problem by buying another Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D (is that a long name or what?).
Problem solved. BIG help in all flying! And -- bonus is this model switched from hat to saucer for views. What a relief. My thumb thanks me every flight.
I think I would have spent the $30 for the saucer views even if my old stick worked fine. LWED3D has always been my favorite joystick, now even more so.
