Frenchy, sometimes the D-25 is boring waiting to get where I'm going during the climb out to op alt. I'm getting a bit burnt after nearly 60 hours flying it every mission. My CO Twitchy understands my agreement to you and wishes this was over. He could use me flying other planes to support the squad.
But he agrees this is a good training exercise, and I want to see it to the end.
I've just gotten flat on my SA and ACM. I either am too reckless which gets kills but gets me whacked, or Im conservitive and I mis-judge the energy state of some spit or LA7 and loose a whole 10-15 minutes of getting setup. Doesnt help getting ganged half the time.
So shed a little light my way please.
:D

Just give up.

NEVER,,,,may your throttle stick on 0% when the BIG 47 Pig lines up on your 6................:) May Frenchy drop a wooden Rabbit on you from a mile in the sky. ;) May Shane "Slobberdonkey" you untill little donkeys come out of your wheel wells.:D
Thanks Rude ,,,I needed that.

fly it with 100 fuel full ammo no drop tanks up to 16k or whatever alt the furball is
use it to clear other players tails of bandits firing at them and you will have more luck perhaps

Well I've been going with 50% internal and a 75g DT, 6x gun loadout and usually the small ammo load.
After a shakey start (7 deaths in a row) I'm now not doing too badly (I'm about 85 for 10) and considering I really dislike this big fat heavy bastard of a plane, I'm happy with the result.

Im starting to like that plane, usually using 75% + 1 drop.
full ammo load 8 guns for snapshots mostly.
I must stop jaboing in it, it kills my stat :D but jabo is great fun tough.

I got a great deal on my insurance!

Replace the engstart.wav file with a long .wav file of your favorite song, then sit back and enjoy the in-flight entertainment while you climb up to 15k for the next half-hour.

What advantages do you have over a P51? I mean if you want 6 guns and little ammo, why the heck you take a Thunderbolt? 6guns ... that's not a Thunderbolt, that's a Sissybolt.

Why do you need an advantage?

ok seriously, 6x 50cals is more than enough to kill. Sure 8 does the job faster but I find no reason to take the extra weight, the D25 actually turns pretty well with a light load.

well swoop its the diffrent way we fly, I never turn with the p47-25 but snapshot.
Ofcourse somthimes i turn but only for max 1 turn and then snapshot too :D
It make my hit ratio like ****e but who cares.

Encountering the odd bomber here and there, I am certain you would appreciate the 8x50 rather than the 6x50. These things wont turn great no matter what you throw off of them, but for my money I would reduce fuel before guns.
I been flying the jug sort of stupidly, doing stuff like diving on enemy fields strafing aaa/GV's or going into big red clouds when I am the only good guy in sight, etc.. but heck that is fun stuff. Overall the aircraft has grown on me, I expect I will always fly it for some good portion of tours to come.

Hey guys, I'm finding now after 17 days straight of flying the D-25 you can turn and burn, boom and zoom, and pretty much make it sit up and go OINK OINK. The only real secret I can find to this pig is know that sweet spot to place the sight reticle under all circumstances. No matter whats going on, in a D-25 you've had one moment with the con in your sight. You always get "one". Comes down to recognising and taking advantage of it.:)
