Having lot's of "almost" fights lately and wondering if anyone experiencing this also on a more frequent basis.
Scenario: You're alone.......spot a higher N1K La7 or pony. The above craft make one pass............maybe make another HO pass and as you turn, immelman, or roll under to engage.........they run away even though you are at a disadvantage. Anyone else experiencing this on a more frequent basis?
Or.........is it my deoderant? :D

Or lack thereof? I don't play anymore.. but i never really got any 'fights' or, engagements till the end. Normally i'de go a few turns with the attacker then he loses advantage and tries to speed away, but, i flew Hurri, so.. i guess i asked for it. But still frustrating! I also flew 109G10.. and they ran from it too, died mosta the time tho since they're so afraid to turn once anything gets on thier 6.
Only memorable fight i was ever in to my recollection was between me, in a Pony, and an La7..

Exactly why I just prefer to go to the Dueling Arena with someone. Lots of fun fights that way.

I concur. Lot of sissy pilots lately.
Hmmm....just to discard chances....what brand of deodorant are you using, Hajo? :D

"Sissy Pilots Lately?" That deserves the "Understatement of the Year Award".

Bunch of fleeing gangbanging pansies flying lately.
-
Ehem, thats cause you let them escape.
:D

Yup Hajo.. lots of runners, wonder what they would do if they didnt have the lala, dora, g10 or pee51 to run around in.
perhaps they would fight?
we will never know, but some handles have been noted in the back of my head

Hallo Hajo,

I agree 100%.
You forgot the high spits in your summary. I meet them relatively often.
Its hard for me to retrace that kind of playing the game. For what are they paying their monthly fee?
I really would like to read some reasons how this kind of flying can increase gamefun or any fighting-skills.
Did they have the wrong teacher?
Who told them, that advantage in altitude is only usefull for safe running?
I really dont expect that every enemy start to fight my 109g10 at coalt.
But if the enemy is 3-4k above me, i expect that they try to have some fun with me. Because this should be why they are paying for the game.
(Whine-detectors....SHUT UP!! I let them fly the way they want. I just want to understand the reasons why they do so.)
@ Nielsen
I dont agree that you take 109g10 up in your summary. I guess it is hard to find any 109g10 which flies the way Hajo described above.
109g10 will compress too soon and it has too less ammo for spraying.

CT - try it sometime
this week by 9pm est, it is a hoot
please stop by - we need more targets :)
-
Well Ecke, ive seen plenty of running G10's..... they run....climb and extend.
True, some of the g10 pilots are unaware of the compression and those are fun targets if you can reach them before they make a big hole in the ground. :D

fields need to be closere together and we need an early war area within the arena.
The new guys should know that they will never get good if they hide in high alt foxholes or go on 30 plane 'missuns' ... they need to actually get low, get down and get dirty.
I also noticed the weird "high spits" thing.. Why fly a spit like that if you aren't any good anyway? they die as soon as someone reaches them anyway... why waste all that time climbing and running when they could be down low learning.

Shame on them!! ;)
I often try to turnfight in 109g10 against better turning planes than 109g10. Always hoping for a snapshot.
And ,as you can imaging, i often fail with my attack. Then its mandatory to run for a moment. But i stay in iconrange and come back as soon as advantage is at least equaled again. Doing so, running is part of the fight.

yes Ecke, but you stay in the area....you dont leave.
Maybe they just fear my jug :D

The answer is simple: the 733t Spitfire/LA-7/N1K pilots fear your P-47-D30! :p

It's Girlscout Camp in the MA

Surprisingly enough I’ve ran into a few good 1v1’s the last few times I’ve been up. I will have to admit though, they were all vets and call signs I recognized.

Pepe...LOL....I switched brands of deoderant and am showering twice daily now.........local health department complained. :D
Ecke......I concur....I've never seen many..if any 109 Pilot run away. They usually stay and fight....evidently they recognize they have the lower Jug in trouble early LOL. Besides IMHO you'll often find the "older hands" of the game flying other then Spitfires (leviathan special case...it's his plane and will be forever) La7s, N1Ks and ponies. Checked stats in scores and to my suprise (ya right) found that the majority of my kills are against spits, ponies, La7s (deths too!) Checked scores using the expanded format. Evidently ......at this time they are the plane of choice when flying fighters for most peeps.
Which tells me that.........well.......using strat in the game.....we should all target "The Training Wheel Facility" before bombing HQ.

Snicker.
