Reddog has now finnished the drawing I commissioned him to do for me.
Pictured is the Con speaker Geoffrey Bird who began his flying career in the Royal Navy's Air Arm flying Swordfish. He missed the Taranto raid as he was still in training at the time, but he flew this beautiful plane on many early war patrols.
I will be having him sign this at the banquet.
Well done Reddog...may your aviation art career soar!

Final cost to be determined. I am paying red's travel expenses to get the drawing to me at the Con.
It wasn't too much...$20 per hour...took him 12 to do, so I'm looking at $240.
But, I get alot out of it.
1. I get the drawing.
2. It is an original art piece and will be signed by the artist and the pilot.
3. I got to help out a fellow simmer begin his business.
4. A WW2 vet is really excited that someone would want something like this.
It's all good. :)

Excelent work indeed, WTG both of you.

what a great piece of art. i love the style. only $240 for a commisioned piece is pretty cheap. add the signatures and the personal ties and you have got yourself something to be proud of curval, enjoy!

Yes, very cool!

Very nice work indeed! You have the gift Reddog.
Now if Curval can just get HT to model the Swordfish for AH....:D

You can't equate it to having a piece of original art, but for general display purposes, you can get a similar appearance from the appropriate use of filters to process photographs, as in this image:

Having original artwork is still a better deal overall, though.
