Rude, Toad, Lazs, Mark Luper, SOB, Pongo, Ripsnort, Udie, Fatty, Sling, Mason, Raubvogel, AKNimitz, AKCurly, Drex, Eagl, Curval, Urchin, banana, any of the regulars go to this one?
I know Verm and Fdski are there.
-
Nope.
Had kinda planned on going but RL jumped up and bit me big time.
Not this year. Maybe next... but whoever knows things that far in advance?
-
I have the time but not the money this year. Should be OK next year though.
-
Curval went.
I didn't see any FDBs, AKs or BKs on the list. Didn't see any of the AssAss-ins I'm familiar with on the list either.

Yeah it was nice meeting Lizard and Moose (again) last year. Too bad ole HB didn't have enough gas in his speedboat to make it to Dallas.
-
Rumor has it that HT is the only HTC staff at the con too? Can anyone confirm this? I don't trust my source of info on that on since he has a crush on funkypants.

Well that narrows it down a bit. There's only about 8 guys in your squad who have expressed latent homosexual feelings to this heterosexual studly manly man.
-
Yeah, I can confirm that.

Ummm... not "latent homosexual feelings"... more "Thanks for services rendered". And only 8 have done it here... we have entire threads dedicated to your abilities in the FDB forumn. Why didn't you do that trick with the cherry stem for me too?

Maybe I oughta put my money where my mouth is and do some kind of west coast con. How hard could it be. :D
Quite a few AHers in the PNW/NoCal/SoCal.
Something based around the Chino airshow weekend would be spooge-rific.
-
Set it up... I'll take TOB down as my date, so you'll have to find someone else. Maybe we could even throw froggy in the back of the mini and bring him too.

Hard part would be renting the conference room and the network setup. You don't know what it will cost until you know how many people are signed up, but people won't sign up until they know what it will cost. It's a sexy idea though. There are quite a few decent facilities within a pretty easy freeway hop from Chino.

Didn't make the con this year Funked, I started a new job last December and though I have some vacation already I didn't feel comfortable leaving on a vacation this soon. Will try to make it next year. If you decide to host one in California I will make it a point to go. Never been in that state... (keep expecting it to fall off into the ocean :) ).
-
Or duh we could just find a hotel with Wi-Fi and make buying a Wi-Fi card a condition for attendance.

Hope the new job is going well Mark. :)
I wouldn't want (or expect) to take business away from the official Con. But I will keep you posted. :)

It's a wireless ethernet card. $50-$60 bucks IIRC. They are built into a lot of laptops, and a lot of hotels and other facilities are providing connections for them.
-
Thanks Funked :)
-
I have bought and sold a few of these on eBay and you could probably get a slightly used one for $30, or you could get a new one for $50-$60 and sell it for $30 after the hypothetical con.

I find myself strangely, and disturbingly, attracted to funked when he talks all geeky

Stringer you are NOT allowed to come to my hypothetical con, even if it is in San Francisco. :D

Didn't make it this year. Not any FDB's going, so it is probably a bit too highbrow for me. Need at least 3 or 4 of us to bring the IQ level of the Con room down to an enjoyable level :)
Hoping it's in Texas again next year so I only have a few hours drive to get there.

MiniD how does Oct 16-19 hit you? That's the California International Airshow weekend. Airshow is in Salinas, and we could get a hotel/conference space in the San Jose area. They've even got group tickets available for the airshow for a covered seating area with free food and a bar.
-
I think everyone could use a good Funk Con.

Amen to that brother!

Will alcohol be allowed in the FunkCon Room?
-
Alcohol would be mandatory in the hypothetical con room. Non drinkers would be allowed into the room if they have NA beer, but only if they cover up the label.

Let's move it to the other thread you big gay con coordinator.

I hardly think that being FunkedUp's double qualifies me as a person who has homosexual feelings for him.
-

All money go to charity or something

Wouldn't that count as incest?
