I'll be watching the rerun on C-Span tonight at 8pm ET to see for myself but from what I've read < not much on the mainstream media yet > the fireworks were rather interesting.
Here's the only story I've found so far....

Wow sounds like a surplus of sour grapes in DC. If the little whiners don't want play... I say they forfeit.
Not surprised that the moronic California Democrats were leading this one BTW.
-
I dunno Funked, calling the Capitol Police because they thought there was going to be a disturbance on the floor < their stated reason > and the fact that the police went directly to the library sounds like the Reps are trying to quel descent.
Then not giving Mr. Stark time to vote by bringing the gavel down so quickly smacks of, for lack of a better term, fascism.
This little episode is telling of the accelerated degeneration of the political process, both sides are at fault but calling the cops to intimidate the opposition is a new low that the Reps seem to be embracing.

your absolutly right , how dare them neo-nazi fascist republicans pass a law that lets working people put more money away for retirement, if this keeps up the govt will lose all control over the people.
-
Don't have a Rethuglican goonsquad on call? Call the police! Or ever better, the Dept. of Homeland Security.

The nature of the bill passed is irrevelant, it's the procedure used that is/was questionable.....anklehumper < tm Oopsy >

Addmittedly the whole thing stinks but lets be honest the Domocrat legislators again ran out pouting like spoiled children and once again, like recently in Texas, the Republicans were forced to send the police out to get them.

It's time for campaign finance reform and term limits.
These bastards have long since forgotten who they work for.
-
I stay as far away from them and their careers as possible...
-
Exactly... you stay away from the polls... therefore, your opinion of politics and politicians means dick.
-
lol ohhh you see how bitter you are because your side lost?
-
I am on my own side. :p

But serious why should I waste my time by voting for jokers like these on either side... Please dont tell me I should vote for the next one who says " Vote for me - I'm not a Washington insider!."
-
Because the revolution begins with one person. No matter how small you might think your contribution, it is important.
All taunts aside... I wish you and everyone else in this country would vote. If we don't, what's the point of democracy?
-
I understand the problem of not voting - I just dont really believe enough in any of these people to waste time and effort to get attatched to them.
I'd love it if there was some canditate I wanted to vote for but these days only the most crazy determined egotistical SOB ever get a chance to run and even if they are "decent" people their opponents dig up trash on them. He or she does the same and both practically start calling each other child molestors in one commerical - you know the one with the dark screen, flashed newspaper quotes and the ominous sounding narration - all the while both also run those warm fuzzy family sytle ads - you know the ones, playing baseball in the backyard with the kids and of course this message is always brought to you by "Paid for by puppies, orphans and grandmothers voters group" or some other wholesome BS sounding "voters" group..
And no I dont think campaign finance reform will fix it, both sides are rolly stuffing it with dozens of loopholers so they can get their union and business money... Heck even the ACLU thinks it's unconstitutional..
No Thanks!

You get the government you deserve...
-
All those rantings about living in a democracy and you failed to simply grasp the basic concept of it, go figure.

He makes a good point.

Why should I be forced, and yes thats exactly your position, to vote for anyone if I am really disguisted by all the candidates - perhaps you people are the ones missing the point of a democracy. You guys do know that Saddam Hussein forced people to vote in the last Iraqi election before the war. If I dont like any of them I wont vote for them, plain and simple.
