Title: Dweebs on the Runway
Post by: XtrmeJ on July 18, 2003, 11:46:02 PM
2 Kinds I have encounterd.

1. The guy who ups at a field that is being vulched. He spawns fires a few bursts, then when an enemy gets close he exits then spawns on the opposite end and repeats. What does this accomplish? He is not saving his base nor doing himself anygood. I find this rather dweeby on this guys part for trying to fire on the runway to get a kill "perhaps".

2. This follows up on dweeb #1, except this guy spawns and rolls down the runway firing all the way. Now you know that the guy is firing cannons because usually somone trys to vulch him and goes down, lil pea shooters dont hurt to much. So even if this guy gets in the air, he gets mobbed. Again nothing is accomplished.

Just thought I'd bring this up, saw both today figured I'd post and see what you all think :D

#1 guy is trying in vain to get you to waste your ammo.

#2 guy is trying in vain to shoot you down in case you make the mistake and try to strafe him head on at a shallow angle.

LOL a whine about people trying to up a vulched base :D
first time I heard that hehe. (guess maybe not a whine just you just wonder why they kill themselve doing that)
Well it isnt that difficult to kill those people with a few bursts, just dont fly straigt into their gunfireing :)

This first one is working on your head... he's spawning and exiting and spawning and exiting simply to piss you off. If you waste ammo, good. If you complain about it on Channel 1, great. If you whine about it on the AHBBS, perfect.

yeh but whats really great is when the guy uping and shooting his guns  unknowingly clicked on a perk plane by mistake and get vulched about 5 times before they realise:D

Oh yeah, happened to me in a Spit14:D  ... about 7 times.

About the spawners, they are right to do it, I still sooooooooooo many vulchers crashing on the ground trying to steal the kill from each other, or vulching by coming down the runway.

Not uncomon to be 5 planes "holding the field" and end up alone after 6-10 guys tried to take off.

lol, yep. Its therapudic sometimes. Although when I do it, I often don't even bother shooting. I just sit and wait for the vultcher to pounce the exit.

This is a common problem with bish, to defend a field they have two main tactics:

1 - Taking off from that field just to be vulched.
2 - Taking off from a nearby field and climb to 30k before setting up CAP on the attacked field.

Both have the same effect: none.

I do this when other dweebs are vulching a field with a few acks still up.
Spawn - sit on the runway - vulcher dives in - exit - vulcher hit by acks (hopfully).

but this really ruins the kills/sortie if anyone cares.

LOL this thread is not a wine. I could care less if they did it. Just wanted to know whats the point, what drives these guys to up at a vulch field over and over guns-a-blazing. And now I know:D

Hehehehe.....luv them shallow angle vulchers.

4x20mm Type 99 Model 2 work wonders with skill-less vulching dweebs  :D

Of course, this is not for the usual K/D concerned type of pile-it.

We also trip up old ladies, defraud charities and practise the dark arts in our lunch break. We're so incompetent though we end up with cut knees/in debt/singed eyebrows.

It's fun to spawn something with tricycle undercarriage if the vulchers start landing. If the circumstances are right and everythings lined up you can sometimes pop a few. 262's work well plus it gives your sphincter a good work out.

If noone upped at the field you were vulching, how would you get any kills?

naaa by far the worst dweeb is the guy who flies to the enemy base with a group but decides to wait until the others have risked everything to de-ack a field, THEN he dives in and vulches any that spawn whilst ignoring the poor guy getting shot at who just did all the hard work clearing the field.

Dweebs come in many shapes and sizes but by far the worst is the guy who doesnt help when its a simple matter to dive in and zoom out and make the enemy break off.Scorepotatos? i guess that would explain it, either that or blind.

I wouldn't know anything about such dweebs, since I seldom vulch a runway.  Several reasons:

(a) I'm more likely to mush my belly into the ground on pull-out like that;
(b) I'm more likely to killshooter myself when a friendly cuts in front of me; and
(c) my graphics card chokes on all that smoke effect, causing me to auger during the slide show.

Hmmm, I've done that a few times sit out on a runway and get blasted, normally in a Goon and kicking GV supplies out.
