This is a common occurence during the con.  They do it every year for the duration of the con.  I expect to see it back on once the con is over.

Right. Let's hope they put the proper map up while they're at it. Children's maps suck, especially when there are more than 100 people on.

I agree with DMF.

I also think there should be no time limit if you wish to join the side with the lowest numbers.

And the big maps suck even more when there are less than 100 people on.

I gotta agree with Levi, Fur, and Cit (never thought that would happen at the same time).

"I pledge alliegance,
To a chess piece,
Of the non-united sides of Aces High,
And to the pack mentality,
Of which it represents,
One line of code,
Under the rule of HTC,
Fragmented,
With whining,
And dweebing for all."

Maybe we can all become more patriotic and put flags on our porches of Knights, Bishops or Rooks while we are at it.

You CAN'T have no time limit. Spying would be full time and the gameplay would be even worse than it is now. It'd be a total cluster****. I'd say 6 hours would be the minimum. Don't know why you guys would want/need perks that bad (I can barely takeoff and have about 3000) but if you do, fly something old and earn them. :)

damn it hes right. I can hardly imagine you guys (some who have been ranked #1 for eons!) struggling to get perks. Side switching sucks unless you are doing it to support a country with low numbers.

How about we make it so the lowest populated country can accept side switchers from the other 2 countries but if you are in the side with the low numbers and switch to say the winning side you are forced to stay there for 13(?) hours.

still theres nothing then to stop a bish from switchig to the losing side and reporting their movements, then once hes happy he has his info swap back to bish. The limit has to be there to stop the fargin dweeb game the game types.

personally i think anyone caught 'gaming the game' in AH2 should have all awards, perks and rank removed instantly. Same as if he was caught disobeying orders in a real airforce.

Gamers can stay in MA , TOD should be for the more serious player looking to play by the rules common sense tells us is right.

Hiding fleets, flying off map, spying , suicidal behaviour etc etc should all be discouraged and punished somehow. Seems to me a nice reduction in perks/rank/awards would do the trick nicely.

More like it'd put an end to "Hide The Fleet" and long voyages from port to attack an enemy base.  Kiss those coastline furballs goodbye.

No more NOE raids either.

Or ducking B17s between valleys on egress.

I think the sideswitch minimum interval should be 6-12 hours. Allowing a switch to the side with the lowest numbers sounds like a good idea, but if there was a mass sideswitch, that side would no longer be the one with the lowest numbers, and people would be free to switch back. Much though it pains me, I find myself agreeing with BNM.

Here's an idea.  Divide all the players up according to age groups.  14-24 years old for the Bish...25-35 for the Knights...36-66 for the Rooks.

That way... you'ld have all the whiners on one team...all the wieners on one team...and all the top pilots on one team...and everyone would be happy!

Just thought of something.   If we divided the teams up according to age,  WHO would get the sheep?

Well mebbe spying....

BUT read what was said.... no timelimit if you wish to switch to the side with the lowest numbers. +)

If you wish to switch to a side which does not have the lowest numbers... make it 12 hours stuck on the lowest numbered team you switched to.  If another team numbers drop, then you can switch to that one at anytime the #'s are lowest.

You just can't switch to the lowest # team and then hop over to the largest team +)

Maybe, but they could just as easily say, "Lazs is having fun furballing off the CV at 11,2,6 - lets go sink it quick!" and ruin your fun all the time...
Title: so thats why ?
Post by: trolla on July 22, 2003, 03:36:42 AM
the bugger  bish found me when i was way north of a town without it even the town  blinking in a m3. They could switch sides and back in no time under the conn.

There is no logical explanation, he just came right in and found me in under a minute after I had been asking for help for downing a town. The fite was south  of the field so was the spawning point,  I had gone way around to get in from north instead.

Spying is a game cracker.

You don't need to switch side to spy  you just need a friend in the other country.
