Post by: Sundog on July 20, 2003, 12:35:47 PM: If you mean Open-Beta, I was here. My first kill was in a Spit Mk.IX on a P-51 OTD. I still remember it...lol. Yeah, I had to be a Spit dweeb to get my first kill here :D Those elliptical wings make great training wheels. ;)

I remember the first terrain and the updated version. The mountains separating the territories was nice, since it made altitude relevant to game play. I remember many of the fights starting at 20k to 25k as a result. The good Ol' days.

I forget the version of beta where I really started flying beta a lot, but we'd just gotten like 3 new planes including the b-17.

My first kill was a Spitfire Mk IX while flying the Spitfire Mk IX of a guy who was on his first flight in AH as well.

didn't find this waste of time of a bbs until later tho :D

I dont fly anything like as much as I used to, probably lucky to get 20hrs a month in these days, not because interest in AH has dropped, but because there are so many other cool games to waste my time on now :)

Just looked it up couse cant remember it and than had an break and played alot H2H with the 91st bombergroup , with sling and sunchasr and more .
And since tour 18 i played every day in main arena , learned to fly alot in spit from Angus and Sirloin .....
Days and Days Later the good old Mitsu told me to fly other planes so i knew every plane and had an change to win an fight :rolleyes:
I was and still Impressed what Fariz did and could do in his old Yak , and yes for you Citabria alias Fester you can fly anything :)
So these four guys i learned alot from by watching them and have an fight with .......

Not quite beta, but long enough to remember the 10k A1 map and the time before the La7 (most people ignored the La5 then too).

I'd tried out the early beta on and off for awhile, but the game never "clicked" for me with Air Warrior as a viable alternative. Then one day after trying a late beta client, things struck me as just right.

Started up AH on day 1 of open beta and flew for about a year and a half before my online racing career started :) Think I quit about the time that AW went tits up.

Because of that army service I couldn't play much back then (started off with a Voodoo 1 cfx card too, LOL :D) but I kept on cheking the progress of the beta on weekends...

By the time 1.0 version...and the Bf109G-2 with finnish markings was relesed, Í was sold. :)

I think my first tour was Tour 7 or 8....somewhere around there. Sunchaser got me started in here flying bombers. Was a lot of fun. Sorry to see him go, but he seems to have found his niche over there in that other plane game. Hope he comes back to check out AH2. Would be fun to wing up in B17s again for old time sake.

I'm pretty sure I got all the versions... abet spread across many different CDs, I'll look around and see what I can find.
