Vw Phaeton, what a fantastic car!! Just watched it being test driven on Top Gear and they have made one hell of a car. Powered by numerous engines but the best being a W12 engine and is able to reach 201mph without a single viberation, :)

It may go 260 kph, but it's still a VW.
-
thats what i thought till i saw it, everthing except the kitchen sink is in it. And VW make some very good cars nothing wrong with em.
-
The story behind the car is really interesting. The guy in charge iof VW was leaving and as his last design decision he wanted a car that fulfilled 10 parameters, one of which is that the car must be capable of running at 186 mph for 12 hours with an external temperature at 122 deg. F while maintaining an internal temperature at 71.6 deg. F.
The other parameters were equally demanding.
The engine is two V6s mated into a W12 config.

just what the world needs, a 200MPH car.
-
From the side, it kind of looks like a Kia Optima.

Ins't that new VW just a lower end Audi A8?
-
Well, if you kind-of want to get down to the sheet metal of it. You could call it a sibling of the Audi A8L.
But, this is a nice looking ride. Isn't this supose to have the W12 motor in it?
-
Yes, like I said in my post, it has a W12 engine in it.
It a completely separate car from the A8, apart from maybe chassis - but the 10 'wunder' parameters are what set it apart and give it a £68,000 price tag ($100,000).
-
Or you can get an Optima for less than $20,000.00 and pretend its a high-end luxury car.
-
Or pull a 300 pound biffa with a poor sense of smell and pretend she's Angelina Jolie.
Much the same thing.
