Hard to tell from this angle, but it looks like a Plymouth Valiant.
BTW, it's not uncommon for a carrier to, when they're making a cruise or transfer with dependents aboard, to have the crew chip in and buy a couple of junkers, in order to show the kids what it's like to get shot off a cat. It's more entertaining than the catapult-test leadsleds they use for certification.
