who would like the icons just to represent country not plane type..
afterall in real like you wouldn't tell plane type till quite close..
i would also like the icon viz range to be shorter, or dependent on size of force you have in sector, for instance if you have the numerical superiority your icon range is greater than enemy, simulating the more eyes you have the better... same would go for buffs..

I wouldn't like that at all. Would just become an eyesight test. I left WB3 because they did this sort of thing there. Some concessions are needed for play on computer screens, and the icons set up is one of them. Leave things as they are.

In real life you wouldn't be looking through a mere ~17" pixelated window.
But I do agree that the ancient AW type of digital readout billboard icon could use some improvement and evolution. As has been suggested long before WWIIO was started one idea is a variable opacity.

im not
1.we have many various aircraft around from diferent ww2 theatres and diferent years. Only icons can give us fast reaction and use correct tactics against aircrafts attacking us.
We not have inteligence what opposition we meet in air in this area.
2.Mostly aircrafts was build to fight against specific types of aircrafts or outperform them. In RL never was fight Niki vs 109 or 190,.............., here is something normal

a PAC theater pilot didnt have to try to ID a p51 coming @ him
a LW pilot didnt have to ID a TA152 coming @ him.
just wouldnt work in the MA with lesser icons. IMHO they should be more... SPIT9 / 109G / F4U1C so on.

they should be LESS, the perk planes are aleady hunted to near extinction, Spit14 should be Spit.. etc.

just kidding, agree that the id tags should be generic, ie spit 14=spit, f4u=f4u etc

Would be nice in CT and SEA.
Lets hope AH2 bring more Icon options for CM.
