332 Viking Squadron, about 10 pilots

Guys, it seems that due to unforseen circumstances we don't have a SquadOp ready for this Sunday, so will be pushing it back to the following Sunday, to allow time for it to be worked out. Carry on posting side preferences for now though and details will follow shortly. Meanwhile, we will fill the gap with a snapshot - to be decided.
Many apologies for this, but we have new CMs in the Sunday SquadOps team who are still finding their feet as far as the scheduling goes. Hopefully we will be back on track soon. :)

Flossy is chance we can play same setup as friday SOps?
Of course if this is design .
Or its lack of CM's for Sunday?

Hmmm, well that is possible, I suppose..... I'll check.

Mag 33 4-6
Where needed

It was a design issue .. both Stegahorse and I were at the CON. He had an idea for a "100 bomber plane campaign" where bombers got multiple lives, etc. to make up for the allied side actually only have 30-40 players. So that got nixed for now.
Then simply didn't think we could divide you guys up fast enough for sunday.
But if you want to use Suave's Burma Squad Ops .. yes, we could implement it for sunday. It basically tries to cover the whole Burma campaign.
Frame 1 - A6M2, B5N, D3A vs P40B and Hurricane IIC
Frame 2 - A6M5, Ki61 vs P40E, Spit V, Mossie
Frame 3 - N1K2, Ki67 vs Spit IX, P47D25, Mossie
What side you want .. Japanese or Allied?
We were going to run a snapshot .. Gremlin was going to run one I think based in the mideast early 1950s with Israeli pilots in 109s versus egyptians in Spits.
But we could run friday Squad Ops setup instead.
-
We are going short with time, so pls chose best as you think.
Ghostdancer "bombers" not sound good for me;)
And for any postwar event i doubt we will show up;)
Anyway if this sunday will be no SOps, we make traning for squadron as we do last week on DA.

OH MY GOD...... PLEASE LET IT BE THIS !!!!!
:D :D :D

Gremlin will run the snap shot. I will have him send out an email to all of the squads involved in sunday squad ops with details. But basically will be snap shot format for that one day not squad ops. Participation is not mandatory like they are in Squad Ops.
So I take it 101st will be there while 308th will be doing some training. ;)
We will pick up squad ops the following sunday (I believe August 3rd).

So if it would be a snapshot Raid on Amman so give the 101 Red Squ. its historical mission in IAF - Spitfire 9!
-
I seem to be having trouble generating personal enthusiasm for this snapshot.
I know planes are the same etc but well ...
1950 ?
Israel v Egypt ?
Its just not cricket old boy.
Err i mean WW2.
-
Lets keep us to the 1939-45 gentlemen;)

That's fine - participation is not compulsory. ;)I know planes are the same etc but well ...

So, it's not WW2..... but where's the harm in a snapshot taking part a little later? It's not like post-war events are unusual - we had a Korean arena in AW and one of my favourite scenarios of all time was Korea51. Let's give Artik's snapshot a fair chance to succeed.... it obviously means a lot to him. :)

As it's a snapshot, artik, your squad can fly whatever side/aircraft they like - and as you are the designer, perhaps your squad should be given priority.... ;) Turn up early and claim your rides! :D

First of a very big to Flossy & the CM team for hosting this event on such short notice.
We will be promoting this event here in Israel on the aviation forums, I expect a big turnout of new subscribers... even if just for this event. Hopefully some will get hooked and continue their subscription into paying accounts. So be ready for lots of new guys flying around like targets :)
Secondly, this isn't the only non 1939-1945 we've run in Aces High. If anybody still remembers, there was the Historical Event Snapshot of "The Soccer Wars" F4U-11D & P-51D vs F4U-4.
Third and last, I'm hoping the folks who seem apprehensive will reconsider. For the 101st Sqn it would be an honor to fly in historical events tailored after one or another historical squadron's history, represented here in Aces High. For example, we would definately show up for a Polish campaign.

Be shure 1948 events will not dissapoint you!

As one of them CM's , I was wondering if all squad ops HAVE to be re-enactments of REAL WWII battles, or are they allowed to be a little loose from that restriction? Maybe even inventive? even?
-
I would definately go with that Stega, especialy if it would be easier for you to work in attrition, resupply, and strategy in your designs.

yeah - way allways REAL WW2 battals?
We can redesign them or make them much interesting or playable.
For exemple lets take Perl Harbor - it can not be played they whay it was in reallity but if we redesign it - not to make a surprise for USAF it could be very interesting event. I think we should be more tolarable to rewrting history. AH it is a game for fun. Maybe we should go out a little of WW2 too. We have some interesting battales out of WW2 period.
AH is still a game
