Or sponsors with deep pockets.
Maybe cart racing is big in his country. I would imagine he doesn't weigh much, which would be beneficial to racing such small vehicles.
-
Spoiled brat?
-
Yea... it'd be much better if he was hanging at the mall like normal kids.

Kart's are not that expsensive, I can rent one for 175 buck's (close friend) that has a race team. I've been invited to run next seasion for divisonals..but I don't like to be that close to road (can we say road rash if ye whipe out)..and I'd like to have a little more sheet metal :D
Last I heard a good Rotomax Kart runs about 6K

Kart racing can be expensive!
My 250cc super Kart cost 12k.
And on a race week end i will spend.
Entry fee's 150.00
Tires 175.00
race gas 75.00
Hotel 65.00-80.00
The above is alot of money.
And this is providing you don't crash and break someting.
Like i did last year at over 60mph i backed into an oak tree.
Cost 2.500.00
Mt 250 is only a single cyl someof the guys on the west coat are running twins.
Eddie Lawson is about the fastest dude going right now and at laguna seca he hit 160mph!! In a go-Kart(http://home.comcast.net/~c.hambleton/wsb/media/134502/site1026.jpg)

lol RC, you are insane man. :D Well theres three forms of karting. Enduro is the fastest because of the larger motors and taller gearing (race on real 2.5 mile road tracks +100mph), the karts are longer in wheel base. RCs kart doesnt look like it but its wheel base is longer than average kart. Then Theres sprint (race on 1.5 mile kart tracks -100mph)with left right and hand turns style racing and then Speedway (-100mph oval dirt or asphalt). Renting is a good way to try racing these days, or even for a season and not worry about transporting all the tools and vehicle etc...
-
At Texas world speed way we hit 130mph in our 250cc super karts.
In my sprint Kart I got up to about 80mph.
It was alot of fun.
I sold all my Karts cuase i'm looking to get into Rally racing.

LOL, you'll need a good navigator then that wont loose his balls. I actually think it takes more balls to be the navigator since hes not in control.
:D
-
LOL trying to talk the wife into it.
But she get's car sick LOL:rolleyes:
-
Hrmm.. Rc you sure you want that type of back seat driver.. :D
-
LOL maybe not:D

Well theres different forms of sanctioned rally racing. The most purest form going way back isnt very fast at all. The goal of rally racing is to follow a set of instructions (not a map) to arrive at various checkpoints. You could do it in a Volvo or a bus. The more competetive professional variety is fast all balls HP torque you break it you fix it, takes alot of experience.

Is that a shifter cart?
-
SCCA Rally.. is the best place to start.. great envrioment and mostly good people all-around.
It's where I've started.. I don't run rally, but I run SCCA Solo II, and another simular club to SCCA.

A buddy of mine and I used to do that in college, using either my Spitfire, his 240Z, or (after I gave the Spit to my brother) my Firebird. The smaller cars worked better for rallyeing, as it allowed more maneuverability to pull off the road and check the instructions. We were measured on 3 things:
(a) miles driven. Obviously if you miss a turn, you're going to log some extra miles.
(b) time taken. You can't dawdle at every sign you see.
(c) number of questions answered correctly. You might find your way back onto the course by spotting another racer, but you might very well have missed a checkpoint question on the instruction sheet. It was also a good way to find the teams that had cut a turn (accidentally) and gotten back some miles and time.
