Why did I ignore this hobby for so long...
As a kid until about the age of 17 or so, I was down the local rivers several times a week, fishin for smallmouth, trout, salmon whatever was around...
Then somehow, for the past 15 years or more I've not gone fishing more than a couple of times...
Well my brother suggested lets do a fishing trip this summer, and what do ya know the bug has bitten again! +)
Went down a local harbour this past weekend... got 2 perch about the length of my hand, 1 about 1lb or so.... and a seagull (it lived with a hole in his beak) lol
Off to the kawarthas Aug 1 weekend in the hopes of hooking some walleye, bass and if lucky MUSKIE +)
Anyone done any fishing in the kawarthas? Buckhorn/Bobcaygeon area?

Beware the fishing bug SKurg! It can be lethal to the wallet. About 10 years ago I worked a construction job near Lake Texoma Dam. Excellent striper fishing, but I caught myself buying tackle like it was going out of style. (My beer consumption rose a bit as well ;) )

Stripper fishing!!!?? no doubt at $7 a beer! +)
I have noticed that rpm, its different now that I have some money... but the rods, reels, lures.. are just more expensive...
So at the end of the day I have as much cash left over as I did way back then... heh

Skurj, good luck bro!!! I haven't fished that area, but have a 7lb smallie on my wall, and caught a bigger one on July 7th!! (let it go, kept first one only because it was gut hooked)
Man, pound for pound.. NOTHING fights like a smallie/
Family owns a house in Northern Wisconsin, go there as often as I can.
Good luck!!!

What was killin me was everyday when I stopped for coffee at the little store/ bait shop I would always find some new lure or gadget that I had to have. $10 a day adds up quick. :D
