Title: NYC councilman and former officer killed

Some wacko shot James Davis, a black New York City councilman, who was a former police officer and instructor at the police academy.  Davis was armed but did not draw his weapon.

From what I have read, Davis was a fine individual.  Former cop and instructor, founder of a program to stop urban violence, pro-gun rights.
