What I would do if I had Bill Gates' money:

As we whine merrily  on this board, we have brand new Fw-190's, Yak's being built. Me-262's even. More airworthy Spitfires than you can shake a stick at. And plenty of P-51's to go around. Hmmm.

What I would do is having all aircraft in AH constructed brand new, let's say 5 of them each with spares to spare. Rent a big desert and hire really good aircraft mechanics (they'll probably be fighting each other) to get these aircraft to perform as well as they can. Then I would hire respected test pilots and engineers to verify the performance data of each aircraft in every conceivable configuration under every conceivable condition. Sounds good, does it? To end the arguing forever?

And then you'd still have only numbers… over which the people on this boards will argue ad infinitum et ad nauseam (eternally and until it makes you sick) coming up with fantastic conspiracy theories and arguments like that the perfomance figures of the Spit IX with Merlin 66 with blabla boost and blabla guns can't possibly be correct because…

And then I would smile and invite all the whine… I mean fellow virtual pilots on these boards and have them look around, make them sit in the planes and discuss the planes endlessly over a cool beer or two. After that I'd load them in a C-47, fly high over the desert and fly formation with them in a Me-262 with a backdrop of the setting sun…

AND THEN I'LL SLIP BEHIND THE C-47, PRESS THE DAMN TRIGGER AND LET FOUR MK108'S DO THE TALKING AND BLAST YOU ALL TO HELL!!!

Bill Gates could never afford this.  The costs would be well into a billion to even try it...

I'd set up a trust fund for any honorably discharged enlisted personnel to use to pay for all of their college tuition.  Texas A&M attendees will get their own off-campus house built!! :D
