No kidding...we had better hope that Cuba never becomes democratic because Miami would cede from the Union to become the new capital of Cuba.

I will give credit where credit is due. I'll agree with referring to them as ex-cons if they have been convicted and served time.
But if you commit a murder, you are still a murderer, even 50 years later, whether you were convicted and sentenced or not. The same goes for the other felonies.
I havn't checked to make sure, but I think you can also call most of them Democrats.

whats worse an ex con or a lazy handsomehunk sittin, sippin & spittin out kids on welfare?
both vote the same...

That is the sad truth. It is going to be a factor in upcoming elections...
Lawsuit over Florida felon voting rights (http://www.vote.caltech.edu/mail-archives/votingtech/Apr-2003/0100.html)
Think about it... registered sexual predators, robbers, rapists, murderers and burglers casting their votes.. and most of them voting Democratic. I wonder why?
-
Well.. I have to say even tho I'm a democrap.. I don't think they should beable to have their vote rights reinstated.
Then again.. I did Vote for GW JR because I didn't like that donuthead potato.. I mean Tipper Gore..errr Al Gore..
-
well , it's only 125,000 and they have to learn how to use the new touch screen voting machines and also have to find the polling places, so it's not a "slam dunk' for the demos.

Did someone say "Democratic Voting Machines" ?? :D
http://www.beltwaybuzz.com/Archives%20Castro%20Voting%20Machines.htm
Fidel Castro has reportedly completed negotiations to purchase the voting machines that became so controversial after Florida’s vote in the 2000 presidential election. During a seven-hour speech delivered this morning and afternoon, he pledged to hold free elections within six months.
"The Cuban people overwhelmingly support my leadership," he declared. "This will prove that once and for all. It will reveal to peace-loving people around the globe the lies of the capitalist war mongers and their running dogs, the Cuban exiles."
A rare press conference followed the speech. When asked if he had concerns about the alleged inaccuracy, hanging chads and the like, the Cuban leader responded, "We are not incompetent like the Florida officials! The counting will be done by my own specially-trained people. I am confident that they will produce the required result."
The voting machines had become quite a white elephant to the State of Florida. Officials had even tried to auction them on Ebay, with little success.
A highly placed source reported that Castro’s call was first taken by an aide to Governor Jeb Bush, who told Castro that the state administration would not do business with a murderer, dictator and liar. Bush happened to overhear, and was quoted as saying, "Wait a minute – find out how much he’s offering."
The purchase price has not been disclosed.
According to our correspondent, the machines will be shipped to Haiti, and then to Havana to avoid the American embargo. Upon their arrival, they will be "reconditioned" by technicians at the state-run Havana Auto Repair School.
Sources at the White House expressed skepticism about the upcoming elections. Former President Jimmy Carter could not be reached for comment.

Florida is one of eight states that deny ex-felons the right to vote unless they take steps to have their civil rights restored by the state.
so does that mean the other 42 states grant them (ex-felons) rights to vote immediately upon being released or that they do not grant them rights at all?

In this state you have no rights at all.

The sad part is that the Coast Guard sunk it. That's too bad because it would've made an interesting museum piece.
I can see why they'd sink it, though. Couldn't tow it, couldn't lift it onto the cutter. If they'd left it to drift it would be a navigational hazard (no running lights on the stern).

I think that shows a brilliance that should be rewarded with citizenship. It's like something from Scrapheap Challenge.

Sometimes, errr, ok, most of the time I want to reach through my tv and squeakslap Paul jr. What a talented, unresponsible little twit. Note to Jr: Do what your dad says, he does sign the checks. When you pay the bills, then you can have all the hissy-fits you want to. Like your bikes though. Jesse's are better...
