Lets hear what the community has to say about this...
And why do people think releasing her name is an invasion of her privacy yet it is ok to release Kobes name?

They never release the name of a sexual assault victim...keyword VICTIM. The State is charging the Defendant, Mr. Bryant, with a crime and that is public record. This is not a civil trial, this is a criminal trial. If she was suing him in a civil trial then her name would be public record. Thats why.

As interesting as it is to know that she's nuts, releasing her name is going to make her the victim of untold harassment and intimidation by his "fans." Not cool.
At least the mainstream media is taking the high ground and adhering to the usual policy of confidentiality.
-
I think it is unfair to release his name. Now there will always be doubts whether guily or not. Both of their right to privacy should be honored.

She has already received death threats. I think the state prosecutor has also.

I'd expect nothing less. People are idiots these days.

He isn't done paying yet, not by a long shot.

If the things said in that article are true, and not an attempt at realiatory character assasination, then it draws out my belief that its just an emotionally unstable person trying to gain attention/profit by playing victim.

"It's not her complaint against him. It's the people of Colorado against him," she said.
Prosecutors have sometimes decided to continue cases, including sexual assault and domestic violence ones, without the cooperation of victims, she said.
Hoy, who was accused by defense attorneys of rushing the case against Hurlbert's wishes, also said it was up to the prosecutor whether to go to trial.
"It wouldn't be her choice," Hoy said.

The really sad issue here is missed by most everyone... until either the bball player is found guilty, or innocent... no one, including the media should be slinging mud about either's character.
Ohh, one last thing, let's say the woman did have some emotional issues back in February. If indeed she was sexually assaulted, does that make it less of the a crime if she was supposedly "mentally unstable"??? I think not. Yet the obvious thing the media and others claim when they sling muck like this is that it shows her character. No one truly knows what went on in that room but her and Bryant. Until then, the media, and "others" with their "expert opinions" should stay out of it, and stop dragging both accused and the victim through the mud.
My .02

If a company is trying to sell me a product and using his character to sell me that product, why should I not be able to question his character?

Well at least I found out who Kobe Bryant is.
