How about a formation flight screenshot contest. May the best pilots win. The 48th FG Checkertails throws down the gauntlet and challenges all comers. Points for number of planes, tightness & precision of formation, and artistic merit. Post 'em here, keep 'em real, and make 'em pretty. Winners get, well, the recognition for a kicking screenshot. (I had a breif but wonderful dogfight with Camo yesterday. Me in a P-38 and him in his 109. I lost but it was still one to remember! <S> )

Great idea Renfield!
Yep, we've done some formation practise in the H2H every now and then. I guess we'll have to do some more next week. Especially now that the film viewer shows clouds, makes screenshot taking easier. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Sheesh, the Red Dragons have got you all beat!
Artistic merit? Yeah, let's see if you can get as many primary colours in YOUR screenshots (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
-
Well, so far the entries are pretty good (OK, actually very good (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)). Looks like the Red Dragons are definitely in the running as they are the only other ones with a 5-ship formation. Trail is a litle loose though Duma. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
48Th FG Checkertails are all within 140 feet and if you'll notice, heavy 47's on a Lanc's wing - difficulty points for matching speed and holding form.
LLv34 looks really good but no distance markers to really judge tightness - looks good but the guy on the left is a bit loose.
JG54 is very tight - looks like 44 feet from Stoikov to Mr. Becks and Santa looks even closer, but... it's only a 3-ship. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Keep 'em coming - these are great!

The FDBs saw this thread and were inspired to join in. After hours of practice we got headed up to show our stuff . . .
