gimme! gimme! gimme! i want one!

OK... one of those MIGHT beat a big block;)

I'd shag Hillary Clinton for one of those. I dig the spoiler that raises at high speed - much better than other model's spoiler.

*drool* eight pot callipers *drool* ceramic discs *drool* 0-125 in 9.9 seconds

Look at them closely. The spoilers all look pretty equal, except they're extended on two of them, even though parked.
The label on them ("Erprobungsfahrzeug") means prototype. Quite sure they were not yet fully working when the pictures were taken.

Ah yes... a fantastic car on paper... but surprisingly enough it doesnt do much for me in the looks department. Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt turn one down as a gift, but I prefer the lines of the 911.

Oh, BTW - as I understand it these cars were snapped around Atlanta, GA (PCNA home office). Final bouts of testing before they are released - the few hundred individuals who will be forking over half a million dollars to get one must be losing sleep.
-
I've never been to Atlanta, but those pics sure look like Death Valley to me.

LOL! You get below sea level in Atlanta and you'd better know how to swim.

Opps Funked, think your right - didnt see the sign on the first pic.
Withdraw previous statement.
I wonder what I was thinking of...

You were blinded by lust.
PS I saw a 914/6 GT today, really nicely restored.

The black and silver cars are GTs. The yellow one has different tail lights (and the tail fin is not raised)... and doesn't say GT. Actually, the silver doesn't say GT either, but I think there was a problem with the rear pieces on it (duct tape and such).

One of my bosses (I cringe whenever I say that) has a really nice 914 2.0. He also has the fire engine he used to crew when he was in the fire department. Being with Intel for the last 25 years has its advantages.

The 914/6's are very nice cars. Not many people give them any respect, but sticking a period correct 911 engine in that go cart makes for an awesome track car.
Excellence, one of the P-car magazines did a story on a 914 that was completely hot rodded. The guy threw a twin turbo 3.6L in one, flared the fenders by a good six inches, etc.
The best part of the car? The liscence plate frame which read:
'Its all stock' on top
and
'Trust me' on the bottom.
:D

There isn't a problem with the pieces, it's just that they're probably handmade - not yet series production. The yellow one seems to be one of the first pre-production ones. prototypes (the explicitly state "erprobungsfahrzeug", not to to scare a probable buyer by it's current looks) rarely have the type, even the manufacturer displayed anywhere. in this case it would be difficult to hide their identity though.
-
did you notice the exhaust pipes..... LOL looks like they have vectored thrust too!
-
nice cars...
GM sells a 740 hp big block crate engine. 1250 Hp is not too difficult to get out of a big block.

You're right... they probably just threw the duct tape on for asthetically pleasing reasons... and put the crack there to impress people too:

The yellow car has subtle differences from the other two which appear pretty much identical. As for the manufacturer... that's pretty clear for anyone that reads the "Porsche" on the manifolds or looks at the emblems on the wheels. Don't know if that makes it pre the other two or not. Just that its different. The lack of a GT on the back spurned my initial statement. The black one does have that on the back and the silver one has something taped in place.... so its difficult to say.

Actually... looking a little closer... the black car has alot of tape on it too. Maybe the yellow is a later version and the other two are earlier prototypes. At least the yellow one has molded tail light covers and doesn't show obviously "just throw these in" tail lights.
MiniD

black tape is is sometimes used to hide shapes of the cars, and the rear tail extends above 75mph must not have been workin on some of em, or testing effects of them down and up. The amount of effort that has gone into the GT in inspiring and its a pity there making only 1500.

That's doesn't look like a crack. Most probably a cable for an additional sensor.
-
Hey I'm just saying. :)
Actually it might not have been a "real" GT but it definitely had the flares and the 6 cyl. Those things look so much better with the flares BTW.
