Title: Please change join command--Default to text request
Post by: BGBMAW on July 27, 2003, 06:03:41 PM: PLease explain why the join command by default covers up your scrren like you are getting muted for calling some one a handsomehunk?

Being that my name starts w/ B..i think we get it more..

But im tired of newbies and guys who want t o screw w/ u..doing this during dogfites...

EAGELX was on ..he asked everyone in our country to join them...(popping up the Big grey Box)

we all said wtf are y ou doing?? He said piss off..im a 2vweeker i dont care..

PLEASE MAKE IT DEFAULT IN AH2...that it asks on text please...

i think the join tab on the roster page should be removed too. its always happening to me too. (and im lucky im in the H's!!) either that or maybe make that pop up grey box appear anywhere but right over your recticle/sights. Ive lost kills and missed bomb drops, I even crashed once because of the grey box popping up.

typing in .join is no problem and its the way i join people anyhow.Its far quicker than trying to find the name in the 500 name roster list.

eagelX is obviously a moron, he cant even spell 'eagle'. Must be a recent college graduate? :)

Post by: Ack-Ack on July 27, 2003, 11:15:30 PM: EagelX is just a little kid from Israel and usually if you tell him after the first time, to ask for permission before hand, he does. At least he does with me, as I've allowed him to take a few hops with me.

As someone who's name appears usually near the top of the list, I get bombarded with these join pop up windows a lot and I agree with BGB, the default setting should have it appear in the message window instead of the pop up window.

Post by: brady on July 30, 2003, 11:52:20 AM: Yes I get them alot I think BGBMAW has a point since were both "B" names, although I dont fly in the MA anymore we get some rookies in the CT on ocashion and I get taged alot, yesterday 6 times, man it is realy a pain in the pooper, espichaly since they always seam to ocure when your on someones six.

Might be nice if the darn thing was smaller and apeaed in the corner of the screan.

btw the eagl guy went thru the whole squad and threw out invites....

this is really the 1 and only thing i would like to sock him in face for...

when you start doing more then text typing....talkn trash or whatever..and actually interfere with the game play im PAYING for..its time for skull rolling...lolol

anyways...sure hope we get a response from HTC about a change....

.showjoin 0

will prevent the popups. I agree that this should be the default as well.

But who wants/remembers to type it in EVERY time you log on. I'd still like to see a pref.cfg file for "perma-squelch" and other settings like this...
