anyone know of a good AVI editing program so i could add sounds and music?

The one I use and prefer for the most part is Ulead media studeo...its not cheap though. FOr a budget, Ive heard good things abour Video Explosion ($70 or so) avail at Compusa and BB
STAY FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR away from Pinacle. Its the crash master. Ive loaded it on 3 different computers with diff Mobo, Intel/amd cpu and 3 diff makes of video cards and sound cards...they ALL CRASH with a regulariety that makes Battlecruiser 3k seem stable.

Try the free Microsoft Movie Maker 2. Besure to download the new codecs too. Works really well and can create some very small video files.

You can get the codecs package from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=73c47878-20d0-4c1a-96f4-177d7e0074b7&displaylang=en
This will install the MPEG codecs along with a few others.

I agree... it's a very easy program to learn. You can easily trim down the avi files saved by the AH Film viewer and add the music as well.
Below is a link to my first attempt at putting together a series of film clips... the only problems really came from the AH film viewer not displaying explosions and smoke, but about halfway through the process I discovered that it's probably due to a memory leak as I was able to shut down the AH viewer, restart and see the smoke/boom. After that little tidbit was discovered I would always restart the program before actually capturing the avi.

Outstanding nice job!!!

If you have access to a Mac, try Final Cut or Final Cut express.
Outstanding software.
If not, the above mentioned Movie maker is ok for basic stuff.

Thanks... I credit Alf for getting me hooked on this. His stuff is definitely a cut above my work.
His latest P47 film definitely gives me ideas to plagerize :D
I'm working on a B17 film using squad night footage but the camera view from a gunner position seems to be lacking :(
