"Two Democratic senators say the program is useless, offensive and immoral. They are demanding that the program be stopped before investors start signing up Friday. "
Those damn liberals, the nerve.

"Traders would buy and sell futures contracts -- just like energy traders do now in betting on the future price of oil. But the contracts in this case would be based on what might happen in the Middle East in terms of economics, civil and military affairs or specific events, such as terrorist attacks.
Holders of a futures contract that came true would collect the proceeds of traders who put money into the market but predicted wrong.
A graphic on the market's Web page Monday showed hypothetical futures contracts in which investors could trade on the likelihood that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat would be assassinated or Jordanian King Abdullah II would be overthrown. Although the Web site described the Policy Analysis Market as Middle East market, the graphic also included the possibility of a North Korea missile attack."
Grun, did you get this from the onion and paste it to a fox site?

I'm surprised the repubs from the bible belt haven't said anything.
-
I smell a Joey Skaggs hoax.
but more likely, somebody wanted to see what the reaction would be. Could something else be too far behind?
-
Well....here comes your Republican, Bible Belt response.
I think it's perverted and wrong....mankind has some serious character issues.

WTG Ron Wyden! <- Words I've never uttered before.
I can't quite figure out just what they hell they are trying to do with this. It has all the appearances of being the stupidest idea I've ever seen.

Who's John Poindexter?
A retired Navy Admiral, John Poindexter lost his job as National Security Adviser under Ronald Reagan, and was convicted of conspiracy, lying to Congress, defrauding the government, and destroying evidence in the Iran Contra scandal.
The convictions were overturned in 1990, based on the fact that Congress had given him immunity in exchange for his testimony, even though the testimony he gave Congress turned out to not be true.

This ought to be more than enough to make him a hero in conservative circles. Does he have a talk radio show yet? Eat your heart out, Ollie North!

yeah, but he didn't get a lewinsky

The funny thing(or not so funny) is that after the repubs sold the arms to Iran, Iran turned and shipped them to terrorists. Then the repubs get mad at the dems for not doing anything about terrorism.

Even most repubs were in the dark. Seems to me both the dems and the repubs have lost some control.
