Yes there is an way, but it aint that easy... when you start to download an song you can check netstat for the other persons IP-number, then you can do an search on his IP number to see where he is...

I noticed not a single one of the default "KazaaUser" names were listed.  Any ideas as to why?

Cool? why? your ISP have logs of all your dyn IP that you have ever used...

Yeah....but......logs aren't kept that long.  At least AT&T doesnt.

Dunno what the law says in the US but in Europe an ISP is only required to keep logs for 3 months.

I understand that but given the number of people on the list not one is a default user name.  There has to be something to this.

The way i think its done currently...

1. Some hired consultants has an list with artists they should search for.

2. They djust type in the artists/songs in the search option in Kazaa.

3. When they find specified artist/song they "browse" the user sharing the song to see how many songs hes sharing.

4. Depending on an set threshold of sorts from RIAA they decide if they should bust the dude or not.

5. They decide to bust him... djust click download an song from the poor dude and while they are downloading the file they djust check Netstat for his IP number.

6. They search the IP number to see where the dude is located.

7. Depending on where in the world the dude is located the consultants or the RIAA contacts the dudes ISP to get his personal info.

8. Supena is on the way...
