...now really think about this before you reply, why bottled water has an expiration date?  I mean, come on, as Carl Sagan would say, "It's BILLLLL-YYYUNS and BILLLLLL-YYYYUNS of years old."  What the hell is a couple of years going to do to purified water in a hermetically sealed bottle?

The plastic starts to deteriorate, causing the water to taste funny.

Used to work for a distributer that sold bottled water, among other things, and that was the answer that i got when I asked.
