I posted this in Hardware and Software, but thought I would cross post it here for more traffic:
A friend of mine is looking for an older KT133 MB that uses the older 168 pin DIMMs with a socket 473? (I think). His current system is an old Pentium 2 something and he is getting a 1 gig chip from somebody he knows, but his current MB wont support the chip. He only uses the computer for web-surfing and other non-intensive stuff so he doesnt want to lay out money and get a faster machine even though I told him I could build him a system just like mine for about $500.
So if anybody out there has a KT133 MB laying around that they want to get rid of, tell me what you want for it and maybe we can make a deal.

you may want to look into a custom bios that may have been made for that mb . it requires a flash program . and it may allow you use the larger cpu on it.
I have done this to my old 486 and went from a 166mhz cpu to a 500mhz amd cpu.
just an idea to look into :)
