My CH Combatstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals are all pretty old. Got that stuff when it first came out. It's all analog.
So last night Rude says "Come on over and try this new USB CH stuff. You'll be amazed."
OK, I'm amazed.
Planes handled more crisply, it was far easier to land shots all in one place on a plane and get a kill.
My stuff seems mushy in comparison. Can't ride the stall nearly as well.. well, hardly at all. Even when close, bullets "wander" a bit when hitting the plane. Can my stuff be "worn out" or is it true that even new Analog can't compare with the USB stuff?
So have the rest of you that switched noticed a big difference or is this all in my mind?
Opinions please?

Toad, after you run out and buy your new CH USB gear, you may want to also stop into your local plumbing shop and ask for an estimate to install running water and toilets in your house.

BTW, the toe brakes on the USB Pro Pedals work awesome in AH.

my analog stuff was twitchy at best
usb all the way for the last 3 years - big difference

I was a cr*p flier with analogue gear; I'm now a cr*p flier with digital gear.
My TM Cougar is even better than my old Suncom stick.

I'm in the same boat - Have an MSW Precision Pro game port job - plugs into my Creative sound card. It's OK, but no longer supported by MS and the drivers won't work with W2000 or WXP.
I'm going to get a Fox2Pro USB (http://www.thrustmaster.co.uk/products/d_prd.php?p=T63&fam=6) when I upgrade my PC. I have only 2 USB ports on this mobo, and they're both taken. Yes I know I could get a USB hub. I could even use the USB port which would fit in a PCI slot, but doh! - lost the interface wire. :(
Not sure what other (if any) USB devices you have, Mr. T. But I would endorse what has been said here: USB is da bombe - no more buggering about with IRQ conflicts etc. Everything installs and runs smoothly. No fuss, no feathers.
One word of advice: Sorry if this sounds like teaching your grandmother to suck eggs, but many people fall into the same trap. When installing your USB device, do not plug it in until prompted. Insert the supplied CD first - and let the driver installation program start up. Plug in your USB device only when prompted by that program. Otherwise, Windows will detect your USB device, and start installing its own drivers for the device. You don't want those drivers, and you don't want to be nannied by Windows! ;) You want the proper drivers as supplied by the product manufacturer.
Let us know how it goes. I wish you many hours of stratisfying furballing! I'm sure you'll turn into quite a lethal LA7 pilot. :D
