Well BOOO F***ing HOOO. I feel so sorry for you.

Saddam Hussein's eldest daughter, Raghad, accused his aides of "betraying" the deposed Iraqi president and causing the fall of Baghdad to US-led forces in April.
"The main betrayal came from the people whom he trusted fully ... (In fact) they betrayed their country before betraying Saddam Hussein," she told the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya satellite news channel from Amman.
Raghad, who arrived in Jordanian capital with her sister Rana and their nine children on Thursday after being granted refuge, termed the fall of Baghdad on April 9 "a great shock."
Describing the hours leading up to the abrupt end of her father's 24-year rule, Raghad said she spent them in Baghdad's posh Mansur district with Rana and their children, knowing it was "all over."
Apparently referring to April 9, she said her father sent cars to the house in which they were staying after midday with instructions to leave.
At the time, she said, the wife of her brother Qusay -- who was gunned down by US forces along with his teenage son and elder brother Uday in the northern city of Mosul July 22 -- was with them in the house along with her children.
"The moments of saying goodbye were horrendous," Raghad recalled in snippets of the interview to be aired in full later Friday.
"We left Baghdad and met up with my mother (Sajida) and (younger sister) Hala after a few hours. We were brought together in a house on the outskirts of Baghdad.
"Links were all but cut with my father and brothers because matters had gotten out of hand. I saw with my own eyes the (Iraqi) army withdrawing ...
"We were a group of women having to decide the next step ... We parted company, until another day."

Saddam really named her Raghad, hmmm.

She must have gotten those beautiful eyes from her mother.

As per Muslim dicta, shouldn't her face be covered up? Not making a smart bellybutton remark, just wondering if Shiites allowed women to show their face (yes, I know she probably isn't a practicing Shiite but if she's going against the will of Allah...time to gather some rocks for a throwing contest).

hot damn....she's gotta rub my lamp sometimes :)

saddam was actually fairly moderate when it came to religion ( thats why he and al queda never did business), thats why she isnt in a burka.
Most of her older pics are of her in western clothes, and she also speaks english. Typical royal family sheltered life crap.

If you want to get technical about it, burkas are not mandated by Islam to be worn by women. You will find nowhere in the Koran that says women have to cover up. Burkas were an influence from the Turks during the time of the Ottoman Empire when women that were part of harems were made to wear burkas and veils. Just like you see in some of the men in Arab countries wearing a fez. That too is a left over influence from the Ottoman Empire.
Oh, and the Hussein family are of the Sunni sect of Muslim, not the Shi'ite sect.
Ack-Ack

It's a secular edict. The Taliban enforced a very hard-line conservative view of Islam, and the Saudi's sect is a close second. As long as the head is covered, I think most muslim clerics find it acceptable.

Is it Muslim edict to tweeze your eyebrows?
I think she's more Western than she cares to admit.
Anybody want to put money on whether she shaves her legs or not? Double on armpits?

How is tweezing a western characteristic? Even then, Saddam never really instituted muslim religion too strong on Iraq. If I remember hearing it correctly, he found it more troublesome due to insurgence. He made use of it when it benefitted himself, and cast it aside when it's purpose no longer suited he needs. He allowed it for the comfort of the people, but when it got in the way, he put it down.

Even if she routinely mows a nice landing strip down at the Y, it really does not matter.
Inquire as to the sympathy level of the wives and family of those brutally murdered by their regime. Nothing quite like a famous, presentable victim.
P.S. Brought to you live from an internet cafe in Santiago, Chile. It's cold here! About 40 degrees F right now.
