Thanks for looking into this. The artwork in question is copyrighted, and was commissioned by a member of the Flying Pigs back in 1998. We're not trying to be hard tulips over this, just protecting a copyright.

Already brought up in another post, however if you would be inclined to provide a little more information on with whom to take care of it with we would then be deposed to expedite the consiliation process just a *Tad*....

Who OWNS the COPYRIGHT?
WHOM Do I Contact about the copyright infringement.
I KNOW I'ts my Squads website I am the one who made it...
I was requesting more information outside the obvious, perhaps you personaly know the copyright owner as your coming to his/her defense. Don't threaten to sue me for your *Ahem* assumptions... Keep it up and I will show you "Not Nice".
Resolution is in the works, now give the info so we can be sure to contact the right person. As you seem to be so close to be able to offer retribution on their behalf.

Some friendly advice from a flying pig. You're using artwork that is copyrighted. Take it down.
If you need some advice about the Flying Pigs squad, ask Drex, Nash, KBman, Frodo and just about anyone who's been flying these sims for a long time. They'll all tell you to take the artwork down.
You really don't need to push back. It's just common sense.

The longer you keep that stuff up for sale, the less likely you are to be able to use it afterwards. Take it down now, then we can discuss it.

No doubt a best seller, but this isn't a logo from some random group. The Flying Pigs have been a staple in online flight sims for many years. Your dealing with a group of guys that have the same passion as you do for this hobby. From developing sims your squad might have flown (Janes F-18, Janes F-15, etc) to giving back to our community with fantastic training that many of us have utilized over the years. (Out of 4 Head Trainers that have been in WB and AH since 1996 3 of them have been Flying Pigs.) Also, dedicating an insane amount of hours setting up the Major Scenerio for all of us to enjoy.
Bad form, dude. Take it down.

I have sent a message to the person who is responsible for that Page.
I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE MERCHANDISE PAGE. I made the squad page, and installed the forums on my familes personal pages (http://www.clanbaker.com) The Server the squad page is on is paid by someone else of which I have Limited Access.
GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEADS.
I very Initially advised everyone here that I have moved to correct the issue. If the Person responsible for that page is not immediatly available don't get pissy with me. If he doesn't fix it by the end of the week I will disble the link.
I will push back at anyone who pushes at me regardless of the reason. You wanna civil response, then behave in a Civil fashion. You threaten to sue my 'hackles ' rise and I will look to a good offense as a good defense.
As for inquiring about copyright infrindgement I was looking to relay the information to the copyright owner and work out a product line for them as well, and give the owner a bit for the work. Same goes for any other squad that might like something of the same.
How about in the future, before we Jump down ppl's throats, we look towards a mutually beneficial relationship? That is what I would classify as a Civil response. Further, many ppl live on different parts of the world and may or may not exist on the same day. To expect an immediate response would imply you hadn't put much thought into your post other than seeing an opportunity to jump on someones arse.
Form Be Damned... As I said, if the owner of that merchandise page doesn't respond by Friday I will Disable the Link. He wasn't on last night and none of the squaddies saw him on.
There is not much more I can do. I am not disputing the source or validity of the copyright Nor am making claims on the Flying Pigs Charactor, programming abilities or contribution to the online community.
The Ball has been set in motion for corrections. not every lives online like we all do. Let the damn ball roll.
Now let this be the end of it. Once the art is removed we can start from scratch.

Perhaps I can explain things a bit clearer, to help clear up any misunderstandings. We, the Flying Pigs, are the owners of that picture. One of our squad members commissioned it from an artist, fully paid for, and with written guarantees that we do not use the image for profit (this was all done "by the book"). So, on top of the fact that the image is indeed the Flying Pigs property, it especially cannot be used for profit. This is from both our organization, and the artist.
Because we have specifically protected the image, we must be careful who "borrows" it. In the past, we have been approached by several groups who have asked permission in writing to use the photo (including a USAF bomber wing!), and we in turn have ensured that the artist has no problems with this. In your case though, we cannot let you use the pictures, even if it's for the simple fact that the Flying Pigs are an online squadron such as yourselves! Certainly we cannot let the picture be used for profit.
So, hopefully this will clear things up a bit, and let you see our point of view. We need to meet these kinds of copyright problems quickly, as it is not only our interest, but other peoples that are of concern (and this is why we somewhat abruptly requested you take down the picture). If you would be kind enough to remove that image from your website, and also from the cafepress items for sale, that would be greatly appreciated. I hope that you see things our way, and strive to bring your own unique identity of "Pigs on the Wing" to Aces High, and help us preserve our own.

Out of respect for the polite and informitive manner in which it was delivered and out of deference to the artists wishes that it not be used for profit the link to the merchandise page has been disabled immediatly pending rectification by the owner and controller of the POTW Merchandise website.
The link at the page will point to this thread until that has been resolved.

Glad to see that, thanks for the quick response, and the understanding to our concerns. You can see the Flying Pigs are quite actively together as a group, by our quick defense of our artwork :) .
Sorry for the quick introduction to copyrighting of pictures there. You might want to check a couple other images on your site to make sure that someone else doesn't go ballistic too (!) Just a heads-up (other people might not have Drex and Sandman to help us out, and therefore they might go nuts on you!)

Things are not always as they seem.
This never should of made it this far in the BBS. Should have taken care of it in private e-mail instead of threating out in the open.
You should always think before you speak, or in this case "type".
Poor judgement gentlemen, regardless of how long you have been in flight sims of what you might be protecting.
These types of conflict should not be posted for everyone to see.

this whole incident has tarnished my love of BB's FOREVER! Having been witness to this horrific slanging match using eloquent but somehow SAVAGE legal speak I feel somehow bruised and damaged!!
I would like some sort of compensation for my damages! :)
perhaps a poster of some sort? :D
.......involving pigs and maybe a big cannon shell?
