This just started tonight. Will play AH for a while, and if I minimize out, this message is up (looks like it's been up behind AH for a while). Sometimes the message will mess up AH, other times I can play for a while by just ignoring it and maximizing AH again.
I'm totally lost as to what this is, or what could have caused it. Any help would be appreciated.

After these two screens, a countdown thing comes up. It says I have 1 minute to save my work, and it will shut down under authority of the NT administrator or something like that. It makes reference to an RPC(i think?) error (again, don't remember... it won't let me save my screenshot during the 1 minute countdown).
Any suggestions beat my solution, which is format and reinstall. Universal microsoft problem solver. :)

Given they are temp files and the game still runs ok I would be tempted to delete them and see what happens. I would wait for some more advice first!! The other poss is some process is trying to start which you don't need anyway. I wouldn't reformat yet, especialy if it's not causing any other problems. It will slow up AH though, running in the background.
Watch this space! Someone will have the answer:D
Nice B17 BTW

Install an Anti-virus software or do an online (free) scan for viruses...
Who is the owner of the svchost.exe process, if you have one that "SYSTEM" aint the owner of then you may have an trojan on your system...
Alot of folks name their trojan process to svchost.exe

Took the B17 pic meeself.
Anyone else have any ideas? Adaware and Norton came back empty.

If it were my system, I would be quickly getting my data off the hard drive in preparation for a re-install of the operating system.
It appears something along the way has possibly gotten corrupt.
-
Data is already backed up on my slave HDD.
Think a reinstall is the only way to fix it?
Any idea why everything but AH seems to run ok?

Tarmac, I think you were on last night when I mentioned something similar. That is the exact same error message I got, after that FTP port opened up. Got it again this evening. Same thing with the virus scan and ad-aware, nothing.

And wth is that AOL **** on your desktop:eek:
-
I have been getting a very high number of problem reports from AOL users. Seems something may be going on with AOL's network.
-
I deleted everything I could find that had to do with AOL on my system over a year ago, so thats probably not the problem. Was just givin' old Tarmac a hard time:D.
I haven't had the error message come up today yet, I'll double check the files to see if they match what Tarmac has posted if it happens again.

Our squad has been h4X0r3D!!!

If you don't patch the vulnerability, you will just get it again.

So if i did a windows update, am I ok now?
or is there more I need to do? Virus scan still coming back empty.

The patch is available in the MS update as a security patch. So if you have all the patches from the MS update site, then you are fine.
