My first knee jerk reaction to this story is to be pissed.

I think my reaction is very much the same. This is about OUR constitution, not what touchy feely things other countries expouse.

i think they serve until they retire or die.

I think conservatives are happiest when they are angry about something.
Anyway, to answer your question, Supreme Court Justices can be impeached. This has only happend one time to a Supreme Court Justice (about 200 years ago), and he was not convicted or removed from the bench.

way out of line. not just judges but also elected officials worrying about what other countries feelings are on our laws. exactly who do they work for?
if I worked at Ford and based my bussiness decisions on what would be best for the Chevrolet corperation I'd be fired.

Whaddaya expect from two affirmative action hired females? Or do you really think they were the "most qualified" candidates in the pool?? Yeah, right.
Sandra "Ditz" O'Connor and Ruth "Buzzi" Ginzberg. Two real winners there. And being female, they out live the males easy.
Yikes......

HHHmmm this brings in some interesting angles.
In some countries it is the legal standing to stone to death offenders of various statutes. The same for removing the hands of thieves. Perhaps since these practices are used byu other "civilized" nations they should be used in our own courts of law.
I can see relying on the constitution could get a bit boring when searching for guidence. Who knows where the next idea may come from or what manner of jurisprudence may arise from the acceptance of another nations traditions.

Nope only person who can get rid of a SC Judge is God - they're in for life, they don't have to listen to anyone, can't be influenced by anyone, can't be bought or pressured and tend to be rather bright.
One of the founding father's better idea's.

after reading this page I think ginsburg should be impeached, if not more of our SC. WTF? Why are they using European law to decide weather or not something is up to par with the US constitution?

I could well be wrong however thought this might be of interest to some.....

I don't see any harm in them looking beyond our borders to see what other nations have done and learn from their experiences, as long as they're still guided by our constitution.
