Title: F1 Sim
Post by: LLv34_Snefens on August 06, 2003, 10:14:54 AM
I suddenly felt like trying a new racing sim after I dusted off my copy of Sports Car GT.

It should be in the Formula 1 genre and the main requirement is for it to be REALISTIC.

I don't want to be able to hit a wall with 30mph without wrecking the front or just get bounced a bit if wheels touch at 200mph.
I want to be punished for making an error.

I suppose this matches perfectly GPL, but those old cars doesn't make me tick.
So far I'm leaning towards something I found called "F1 Challenge '99-'02", but knowing the quality of some reviews, what they mean when they say "realistic" is not neccesarily what I understand with the word.
Anyone know something about this one or something that would be a better choice?

F1C 99-02 is plenty realistic and fun to boot.

EA's F1 series appears to be the only game in town.  Very good physics engine, graphics, sounds, etc.  Crammond's latest effort was a joke.

F1C is pretty cool, definately the best of the EA F1 sims, and you can never go wrong with GPL.

Gotta disagree about Crammond's latest offering, I used to play it on a 1 GHZ with a 64mb Radion and was somewhat dissapointed. It's a totally new game with an XP2600 and a Radion 9600pro under the hood. Of course there's always GPL, Still hard to beat even after all these years.
