				Mixing memory pc2100 & 2700
My old puter MB burnt out so I bought an MSI K7n2G with Duel channel option for the memory that will arrive in a few days.
My old board supported pc2100 at 266 and I was using 2x 256 but want to add in 1 256 pc2700 rated at 333 mhz in the duel channel slot. The CPU I have is an AMD 2000+
XP home
AMD 2000+
MSI KzN2G with onboard video... I think up to 128 shared
-AGP 8x
-5.5 Channel Audio
-IEEE 1394
-Supports DDR 400 memory
-USB 2.0
-S-video and RCA out
-Nforce2 Chipset
Will this run properly or do i need to stick with PC2100 memory?
Thanks for any info,
ZX

That may be asking for problems.  I know I would not chance it, but cannot say beyond any doubt that it would be a problem.

I know when u mix the ole 100 sdram and 133 sdram ... its speed is limited to the 100 sdram.
I believe its the same for ddr.   so you wouldnt improve its speed by mixing the 2 types at all .

Personal experience: DDR is VERY fussy!
I bought a stick of Micron 256mb PC 2100, Then bought another stick 2 weeks later. Both were identical, (except the lot #s), and from the same store.
But I had nothing but weird anomolies, lockups, and BSOD's untill I traded them for a pair from the same mfgr run.
Allway update yer DDR in SETS.  Don't add to it. The closer each stick is to being identical to the rest, the better!
