How many people currently play AH online?

at the start of a tour somone with no sorties has a rank of about 4900

id guess that somewhere around 5000 people are registered.

im no business guru but with that number:

$14.95 x 5000 = $74,750

- about $4,000 a month for the T1 or T3 connection

- another $10,000 for basic expenses keeping all the servers and equipment running (electricity and stuff)

- another $5,000 maybe for the lease of the office space

$55,750 left (but i'll bet i left a TON out.)

7 employees all paid evenly (is HiTech generous? he seems like maybe he is :D )

$7,964.29 a month each or about $95,000 a year (thats not a ton now a days considering i didnt take out taxes or insurance and stuff) i also didn't put any money back into the company (for buying new servers and stuff.

now go back 2 years and have 1/2 the player base. i'm guessing they were cranking out this spectacular game for less than a McDonalds cook's salary. :eek:

We've had 5000 people ranked for a couple of years.

I'd be willing to bet the number of active paying accts is much larger than that.
