in California.. my old basic firearms safety card was not good enough(1 year old)... I had to pay like 10 bucks to take another test... It was easier than the old one... there were a bunch of new "fees" and... you have to buy a trigger lock to purchase a firearm.. Like I'm gonna use one in my gun safe. Figured if I'm gonna go to all this expense and trouble I might as well not get the plane jane sprigfield miltary 45 and so I bought a Kimber eclipse custom II in black stainless... ever see that black stainless stuff? really neat looking. Never paid this much for a gun in my life.

You can still buy a gun in California?

barely... It was kinda depressing. On a good note tho.. we used to have a 15 day "waiting period" but in order to bring us up to federal standard it is now 10 days.

Ah.. the kimber stuff is sweet. I just can't bring myself to pay over $1000 for a handgun.

When the Native Americans try to take back California, you will be glad you have a stainless steel pistol.

Really nice gun. They say it is very accurate but... it is a .45... I know enough to know it will be useless for plinking at anything past about 100 yards... for defense... I am traditonal... like revolvers in magnum. cut down, despurred .44 redhawk is my favorite. Like the slab sided .45's but trust the revolvers more. bought the Kimber cause everyone should have a browning design 45.... something for new guys to shoot and something to make cool looking groups at 25 yards with.
plus.... the Eclipse is so squeakin looking in black stainless.
