Title: When converting Liters to Cubic Inches...
Post by: milnko on August 13, 2003, 01:29:21 PM
What's the correct formula?

My wife has a Dodge Intrepid ES with a 3.5L V6 engine, so what's that in cubic inches?

My son has a 2.5L V6 engine in his 87' Camaro we just bought for him, and I'm trying to figure out how that compares to a 350cu small block.

I got a converter prog, but I'm not sure I'm using it right...

Is a 2.5L a 152.55 cu?

2.54 cubed CC's per Cubic IN

= 16 something CC's / CI  .....   1000 CC / Litre

a 5.0 Litre = 305 CI

2.5L = 152.56 CI

350 CI = 5.7355L

1 L = 61.024 CI

If its a v6 its the 2.8L 173ci. The 2.5L "iron duke" was a 4cyl that was discontinued in 86'.

Check out http://www.thirdgen.org   Everything you need to know about an 82-92 f-body.

http://www.versaverter.com

It converts nearly every unit of measure to almost any other unit. Best part is, it's free.

BTW, you had it right. 2.5L is 152.55cu. 3.5L is 213.58cu.

Very wise. For my sins, I was dragged in to one of the weirdest corners of the net by the careless click of a mouse and misguided curiosity.
