Title: Editing gunsights
Post by: blackfalcon4 on August 13, 2003, 09:10:21 PM
Hello,

Been trying to edit some gunsights.

Shows up fine in editor, but not in aircraft. Tried different settings, color, etc... still no luck.

Ok, what's the stupid thing I'm missing

Your selecting your sights for a particular plane?

In tower go to setup/gunsights
scroll down to find the sight you made/changed.

But of course ghost.  :D

Can see a little color variation of my editing when u zoom in on it big time. Kinda hard to see but its there.  Not the full edit that shows in editor.

OK, wasn't sure if you were getting it loaded or not. You'd be surprised!

What program are you useing to edit them?

Might want to take a look at http://www.irfanview.com

Its free, it's extremely full featured, quick & easy to learn.

Before saving your creation, make sure you shrink it down to the size it will be in the gunsight. IE the size of your thumbnail.

Personally I prefer my sights as minimal as possible, and solid red in color.

I use photoshop

Looks fine except in the aircraft.

Think it has something to do with the colors, opaque or somthing to that effect.

Thanx for the help ghosth

Check color's used before saving.
Think it needs to be 256 colors not higher or lower.

tuffest part, is getting the right "purple" in the background that HTC uses for the transparancy. If you change the color count up to play with it, almost alway when you change it back to 256 it uses the wrong shade. You can get around that by editting sites that have the right colors from the start, or you can learn how to use the alpha channels thata give you that illuminated look you can use now.

Good Luck!
