Hey,  its the lyrics as I hear them,  listened to that song a hundred times or more and it sound like "feline whip"  I guessing they're referenceing a cat-o-nine whip

doh,...  thanks

for years I've listened and sang along,  kinda funny really, makes me think of that website where they have the difference between the lyrics to the songs and what people hear
"s'cuse me while I kiss this guy"

I guess its true what they say,  "you learn something new everyday"  no matter how embarassing

So... which version do you like best? The Police? Manfred Mann? Grace Jones?

I think Manfred Mann nailed it... it's awesome... :)

Quote

Demolition Man
(Sting)

Tied to the tracks and the train's just coming
Strapped to the wing with the engine running
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man

Tied to a chair, [and] the bomb is ticking
This situation was not of your picking
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip
I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster
I'm a demolition man

You come to me like a moth to the flame
It's love you need but I don't play that game
'Cos you could be my greatest fan
But I'm nobody's friend
I'm a demolition man

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip
I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster
I'm a demolition man

Demolition man...

I prefer the Manfred Mann version,  The Police version sounds wimpy to me, and to slow.   Never heard the Grace Jones version but I was never a big fan of her music anyway
