AH needs another plane thats faster than the P-38L    (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) , and the La5 dosnt have as large of a hard core fan crowd as the lightning so it needs that performance edge that the La7 will bring to attract more dweebs to flying it.


same engine as la5 but revised engine cowling and wing leading edges thus giving the la7 a higher max speed

Just realize that Pyro has been using the policy of using "production" aircraft performance specs, instead of "prototype" performance  specs for all VVS aircraft.

Thats why our La5 is not a 400 mph aircraft (check out the help page charts), and the Yak-9U does only 418mph instead of 438mph.

So our La7 would come in at about 410mph at altitude, and 380mph at SL.

Definitely a plane I would like to see.

Would be an interesting challenge for us 109G10 types.

What is the max speed at sea level and altitude for the G10 (K4) in Aces High?

How many planes are faster than the 38 right now?  I didn't think it was an incredibly fast aircraft... just accelerated well.

Also would like to see the Yak-3 as well. It's a shame the VVS is ignored in this game A/C wise, all I ever see is more US and GE planes being produced.

Evil-Santa, the G10 is the fastest plane in the game at altitude, with a max speed of 452mph at around 22,000 ft. Thats almost 20mph faster than the closest competitor at that altitude.

Its the third fastest plane at SeaLevel, behind the Typhoon (which is only dangerous if he's already on your six) and the Pony.

5753 La7's were built with the first in 1943.

this was not a special secret one plane built airplane like the 190D13 and even then only 674 190ds of all models were built starting in 1944. the La7 was a front line mass produced fighter that scored many kills when piloted by soviet aces, in fact most of the aces found this plane to be their favorite ride.

the yak9u is equal in most instances and superior in others to the yak3 (M-105). the M-107 engined yak3 that was the speed demon from hell didnt show up until after the war was over.

akdejavu that was a joke what I said about the P-38  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) most aircraft popular in the MA are faster than the P-38 at all but stratospheric altitudes

Yeah Fw 190D-13 first.  Why should we model a common late war Soviet fighter when we can model a plane of which only two prototypes were planned to be constructed.
