Anyone ever been killed by their own bombs at 10K?

I had finished off the remaining ack at an airfield and decided to drop my remaining 250's on the VH.  I release and switch to one of my B26's waist guns to see if I hit my target.  As I wait for the explosion, a fellow countryman strafes the VH just as my bombs hit.  I see a hit sprite, which I thought was weird at 10K, then BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG and I am dead.  I then realise that the hit sprite was from my countryman.

Now this just sucks.

Never happened to me but it sounds like a real limitation to killshooter - otherwise a pretty good solution to dweebery.

About only solution I can think of would be to announce your intentions of dropping - kind of a "Look out below."

It stops at a point though : I shot a friendly fighter once in a Pnzr, I was shelling the VH when willbus came in & straffed it... My HE shell passed through his fuselage & BOUM, no more willbus...   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Sometimes Killshooter has unfortunate consequences.  Your bombs "killed" a countryman so you die.  Bad timing.

I always thought the AirWarrior PNG thing worked pretty well.  Kill two countrymen and you are denied ammo for 24 hours.  However, even that system can be "unfair".
